Guest deanesn Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I flashed my kernal and now I have the UV yay. but something i noticed with alpha 19 that the search in the market crashed my phone and reboots. :) not sure if it is an issue with rom thou. Please report if your does not work. I had alpha 18 up until this morning and it was working fine. Also any idea on how to reinstall the market by any chance maybe that will fix it.
Guest carl0s Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Is the calendar broked in A19, or have HTC decided to remove text from the week view ? In the week view I see the bars to show that I'm busy, but the bars don't have any text in them like they did before. I preferred it before. Any ideas? Broked or by design? :) cheers

Guest Nexitus Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I don't see anything text from the week calendar and I'm fresh + wipe from the Nexus One.
Guest jdoo Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 My data connection stopped working today. Sometimes the APN drops and today it just has not wanted to reconnect AT ALL.
Guest mudrock1000 Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 Yes I have no MMS after wiping and flashing. I also seem to be unable to install a few apks.
Guest JonnyRockets Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) i didn't post originally because i thought the instructions would be considered "spam". :) what you see is a homemade Morph theme applied using MetaMorph from the Market. obviously you'll need to have a few photo-shop skills to make the backgrounds transparent, change the font styles (see pic below), font colors, etc. anyway, these are the steps i followed to create the morph:create the Nandroid backup!i extracted the HtcClockWidget.apk from my ROM zip file (as a backup). if necessary (e.g., something doesn't work), you could restore using a nand backup or use adb push to copy it back to the /system/app/ folder. i tried the adb push method and everything returned to the stock Widget with no problem.created a theme template using the instructions & guidance from the How to MetaMorph/Theme. anyone attempting to create a Morph theme should read this tutorial!!!use the template to add/modify the *.png files i wanted to change. can't recall if there are *9.png files, but if there are some, don't change them. my understanding is you have to use a special tool/process to manage them. if you want the transparent background - the background png is named clock_add_weather_base.png. i used PaintShopPro to make the clock_add_weather_base.png file 100% transparent. since i didn't want the clock tabs, i added the colon separator (:) to the transparent background and (through trial & error) positioned the colon separator to give it that "clock effect".if you want transparent white clock tabs - to make the clock tabs invisible, i made the follwoing png files 100% transparent: clock_tab_down_shadow.png, digital_divider.png, flip_clock_divider.png, weather_clock_tab.png, weather_clock_tab_down.png & weather_clock_tab_up.png.after making the changes, i copied all the png's to the drawable-normal-hdpi folder in the template.copy the Morph them zip file to the root of your /sdcarduse MetaMorph to apply the theme.after you apply the theme you'll see the white htc background and the home screen will be recreated/redrawn with the applied changes. if the Clock widget is not present, simply re-added the widget and the changes should appear with the widgetattached are 2 zip files; one for transparent background and the other for transparent White tabs. they work for me and my current device configuration; i'm sure your devices are not configured like mine so it's possible you could get different results. i strongly recommend you use them as theme templates to create your own Morph theme/zip files. also, i'm posting so those who want to do this will have a starting point. please, please understand that i will not be supporting this, but i'll do my best to answer some of your questions. hope this helps! ;) Thanks so much for this! For all the folks playing at home, idiot's guide: install Metamorph from Market, run it, it will create sdcard/androidthemes folder -> phone off, Nandroid -> put cortez's zip in androidthemes folder -> open Metamorph, apply zip file. Could not be simpler : ) Cortez, did you edit the fonts btw? Your text is white and my text is black. And the font looks a bit different. Edited March 25, 2010 by JonnyRockets
Guest Jak Crow Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 19 is missing the T-Mobile APN. Is this by design and show the "Alternate APN" package always be added in the kitchen download?
Guest polo79 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 ok i am on A19. I'm thinking that I might want to go back to ERE27 (i seem to be getting worse signal). so could i just bake a new A19 and put the zip file of radio ERE27 into the kitchen? or is that a no-no?

You could get the EPE76 radio (Latest) and forget the rest if that is all you wish to accomplish.. Also.. if you know of anyone that is getting a Droid, Has a Droid, let them know that the kitchen is now open to the Droid.. Featuring Cyanogen's and Koush's roms.. http://android.modaco.com/content/motorola...online-kitchen/ Hope that helps..

Guest polo79 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) so i download JUST that file and flash it in recovery then? sorry, just know that messing with the radio is serious business. Edited June 7, 2011 by Paul

Guest polo79 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) ok maybe i'm doing this wrong, i assumed when you said "bake" to put the radio update into the kitchen. but its not working so maybe you meant just flash the radio update by itself? thanks again by the way. also, if i'm just flashing, its not like a wipe or anything right? Guest lp1527 Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Hey GD, have you noticed a difference with this newer radio? Also, I have root access for most everything but when I try to reboot from terminal I get "not permitted" I was always able to do this in CM roms.... Any thoughts? Thanks my friend!!!!

Polo79, I just read GodDriven's post and did what he said, and I now have the latest radio image on my phone. Here's what he meant. . . click on that zip file that is called, date-nexusone-radio-32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2-signed.zip and copy that to your phone. You don't need to bake anything, or wipe anything, just simply flash "update" that radio image and it will install it for you and reboot your phone once or twice, and your done. That's all there is to it. I know that these things can be intimidating, (as was the case with me about a week and a half ago), but now I'm refreshing my screen on my laptop every 10 minutes to see what others have written in this thread ;-) I'm learning a ton of information.
Guest skydart Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 Hey GD, have you noticed a difference with this newer radio? I too, would love to know if he sees any difference now with this radio. It's late where I live, so I can't really call people to find out now ;-)

Guest GodDriven Posted March 26, 2010 Report Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) hey thanks man, i will try it. yeah i'm about a week or two into ROMs as well. that stuff is easy but the radio stuff scares the living bejesus out of me. that is one of the main ways to brick your phone. Skydart... thanks so much for following through for the team there. Thanks. I did leave out some words and statements needed. Sorry. ;-).... The new radio has worked well.. as you see some may have used it and thus so far no bad reviews. I always try and comment when I say anything radio relaTed this the radios are updated based upon review and submission of physical data change. The service provider should have taken the time to increase data width and voice integrity in the first place if it is an update aS usual. On my end.. I have always had a great HSPDA coverage. I do commend that I do live right next door to the city... and then of course as well as live in the most radio and tech wave controlled area avail besides Japan and europe. So I have results that grow.. as sometimes others flaw.. so I give great reviews from ERE36B and on.. as this held a good footprint on the network. @ The radio issue with Droid... If I am correct you have two options... use the koush Updater for normal additions. And changes. But, the kitchen allows for change. Custom ingredients.. etc... Do remember that the ingredients e Droid or universal related. Meaning apps, some desire framework. I am in the process of speaking on behalf of MoDoCo to the Alldroid Zuesdroid teaM.. with his.permissions of course.. to bring the new and fresh desire build to thus kitchen to show them some love.. All Is well.. I just wish some people would have a good heart and be more open and receptive to our help and gifts the we here at the modoco community so blatantly and passionately provide. As you all can gather what a forum of people who are overprotective to a point of distress can accomplish by some mis judgement and acts of false heroism on glass grounds. But, what can we say crew... with us.. they would be ish right.. without p, The Alldroid would have waited like every human being for the actual entire desire release to even consider touching GSM port to.CDMA :-) SO I guess an .offer turned to fear of stealing, of worry, of what was rightly.our project to behind with.. Yeah, unfortunately the "UGLY" people exist.. right we've seen it.. king and his disrespectful quotes and aactions taken in the start of this. Sorry guys, but my wife said one thing... baby, at modoco everyone loves you, know you, and even though you've even given raw files, to allDroid, as much as they said yeah, your with, you can be, it meant nothing... Cause why would u attack and persist on ones that did this utter sheer jump for the saving ones money in a way as well.. Then giving them a fresh start to methinks new.. unique.. Intriguing.. It seems that in a community where most are thought to be seen thinking in unison... Clearly it has den proven that others might be closed and locred n their perspective views..
