also,

i have several issues with regards to Exchange.

1) when my server enforce me to enter a password any time i waking up the phone, when i mistype 2 times the pass code, the N1 erase it self!!! and then not booting up till i will install once again the ROM.

2) i cannot access the company directory - i mean i can access the page and than when i write the name im looking for nothing comes up. like he doesn't query the server.

can any one confirm if its not only issue i have?

can i skip the phase of entering a 4 digits password after every wake?

well? Any 1?

all of us at one time or another have experienced issues with this ROM. it's a work in progress and i think many of us try our best to help and offer solutions to issues. i know i've asked for Paul's feedback with my problems and am grateful if he responds. if he doesn't, no big deal. i spend a little extra time trying to research/resolve the issue myself. the majority of time i've been able to resolve my problem or find a work around. at the same time i'm gaining a little more Android knowledge.

i don't view "a no response" from Paul as neglecting me. using phrases like "neglecting me" will certainly generate some fairly strong responses to your post. some (myself included) will interpret this as you thinking "the man" owes you a response, that "the man" is failing to provide adequate suggestions to solve your problems. i'm sure that's not what you intended, right? :) good! those of us that use Sense UI want it to work flawlessly and hopefully we'll get there. my suggestion is to exercise a little patience and consider starting from a fresh flash to try and resolve your device challenges. if not and your issues are critical to your daily phone use, consider using another ROM. anyway, i "think" i responded to your original post yesterday with some questions and suggestions; maybe i missed your reply. let me know if my suggestions worked or failed! peace my friend!

I wiped, and wiped DalVik Cache still the same issues. And no I dont think I am owed anything, I just post a problem or situation and days go by and no one else has mentioned any of the same problems I am having and yes I worry. I dont know any other ROM's out there that I want on my Nexus One. This is the only site I know of and Paul doesnt keep is Previous Version Copies for download posted in case of having problems with released software, but as u say patience, but with the HTC DESIRE already out my question to Paul is will there be a RC soon? Or Update to Beta?

This has happened to me quite a few times so i now use Touchdown for exhcnage as i need the security pin. I will wait until the ROM is stable around exchange. Not having the GAL is a biggy for me....

I'm going to try it with a fresh pic message, I double checked my settings with cyanogens real fast to make sure i got the correct MMSC in this time. Gonna try that then I'll go the full distance :)

the password requirement is controlled by the Exchange server. your admin would have to remove the password requirement. i'm willing to bet that your phone is automatically wiped as well. don't know for sure. have you talked to your Exchange admin about removing the password and wipe requirement? i don't use a GAB so i can't respond to that question.

Ok so am i supposed to delete the APN and THEN put it in?

And it's still not working even with all those settings. The only different between the cyanogen is the password, but since the password is HIDDEN...I can't put it in.

i keep a copy of every ROM-version-that-provides-a-good-experience on my PC and sd card. my other backup strategy is to install Cyan's latest release, reinstall the key apps i use, test it for few hours or a day, create a Nandroid backup, wipe my device and restore from Nadroid to make sure it works. now i have a backup in case the Desire ROM gives me major problems. correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought Alpha 19 is based on a a RC ROM?

you made the changes and rebooted your phone before testing? fyi, the password is "none" without quotes. attached is list of APN's i extracted via APN backup after installing Cyan's 5.0.5.2 release. you can open via Notepad and search for your appropriate settings. not saying this will work for you, but you can use as a reference.

You win the grand prize of fixing the problem! I feel kind of stupid now because everytime i see the password being said as None, i just assumed it meant don't put anything in.

Thanks :)

Anyone know how I can load the default Nexus One wallpapers back onto the phone now that I have the Desire ROM? Is it possible?

Is anyone else having the sync icon stay in the tray permanently? It's starting to make me go OCD...

I've disabled syncing individually and globally but it still stays there. I've even uninstalled Touchdown and it still is trying to background sync. What's funny is it seems it's just stuck because there is no background data being transferred...

Did you bake your ROM with Facebook but without Friendstream? I've determined the sync will hang when Facebook can't find Friendstream.

They should be already loaded in unless something has changed in A19

Unfortunately my A19 ROM only had the Live Wallpapers and HTC Wallpapers...none of the original Wallpapers.

Believe me this is very understandable and in a few I will be signing up for a MoDaCo AD Free Membership, but I have posted my issues and/or problems I am having and Paul has neglected to let me know if he also indeed is experiancing the same problems, and I am just not the only one here looking dumb and also being NEW to this I am not 100% certain if I am doing things correctly. So its not a matter of me complaining itz a matter of me stating problems and if problems I am listing is being confirmed on his end as well. Please do not take everything personal I know how great of a job he is doing because to this very moment I do not see myself EVER going back to the NExus One Stock ROM, I enjoy this one extremely to much for that. Just based off of Pauls work, so AGAIN KUDOS to PAUL...

okay sorry lol i thought you were just one of those kinda people that are all just about complaining haha but yea just make a new thread instead of posting on this one next time your questions most of the time will be answered alot fast "most of the time"

Cool, but I dont think A19 is based on RC, if so it would be hella of lot stable then this build (A19). All previous version was up to par. So eagerly waiting on Paul to release an update, because the problems I am having is killing me and my dumb self being new to this didnt backup any previous versions of the ROM...Hopefully we will see a update that corrects these problems soon...

i see the sync icon only when my Exchange account or my Gmail account (configured via the HtcMail app) is receiving/sending email. question: are you using Touchdown because the Exchange features of Alpha 19 don't meet your needs (e.g., you need 2 or more exchange email accounts)?

I use Touchdown to access the GAL and so I can force it to download the full email with pics embedded (as opposed to HTC's limitation of mimicking the actual Outlook setting on your desktop).

That makes a lot of sense... and yes that's exactly what I did. I removed the "Facebook for Sense" sync and let it sit for a while and it eventually went away. I can't add the generic Facebook sync though... it just hangs when I attempt to.

I keep wanting to switch to CM or Enoms latest, but I just can't muster it up to do it... because I know I'll be back flashing desire all over again, it's just THAT good!

You seem to forget this rom isn't made for the Nexus... While the desire shares a lot of the same hardware, it's still not the same device. Not only that, but it looks like there are some unique "hooks" HTC has built into the OS that take advantage of hardware the Nexus may or may not have (FM radio, certain Bluetooth stuff... etc)

i'm not sure i follow you regarding pics... your emails aren't downloading the HTML graphics/pictures? if yes, could that be a limitation imposed by the Exchange Server? my emails are loading with full graphics when i open them. thanks for clarifying!

what did i miss? (if i'm interpreting correctly) his point is that the Desire ROM has some differences that must be accounted for when porting to the Nexus One (e.g., tweaked by Paul before we can use it). i believe Paul mentioned Bluetooth & the FM Radio as examples. ok... time for us to move on... :) Edited by cortez

Anyone have any problems with the web browser? For some reason, my very first flash to A17, I was able to view just about every site properly. Now, some sites look real bad, everything overlaping and ALOT less flash content. I have wiped and flashed again and again. Example... The HTC home page is not rendering in flash and it was last week for me. hmmmm

I never not once discussed issues with the FM Radio or Bluetooth. Any issues I am bringing to attention is the text messaging when selecting a party, the phone number is no longer present and acts like it is sending it to nobody. Something that was perfected from A6-A18. Secondly I have reported issues on replacing, adding phone numbers to contacts. It either deletes the number, or when you hit save, the save has not been made or it has deleted the whole contact as a whole. Yes I know what things I am dealing with because I have had every ROM ever since A8 and this again has been the least stable.

Its a shame you cant go to another ROM if your unhappy with this build..wait, you can. Simply put, if what your having issues with something that hasnt been posted then post it up, if it has then no need to post it up again as its already a known issue. Paul is doing what he can on a timely fashion, going to this new build was seen as a act of progression, give it time and it will be better then what you had. All the work that is required from us, the end user is a few minutes to flash it..dont like it move along.
