Guest BLOWNCO Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 or in the settings you could tick the performance setting and it should max out instead of messing with the min setting
Guest not4us Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 I'm new here. Been following Paul's "adventures" for weeks and yesterday I finally made up my mind and rooted my N1 and put Alpha 19 on it and all I can say is a big THANK YOU to Paul an all the people involved in making what is a great phone even better! Only issue I have at the moment (don't know if this is related to the 160 characters issue) is that any SMS I try to send that contains non-english character (spanish ñ for example)m even if it's under 160 characters it fails, has anyone experienced anything similar? Keep up the brilliant work!!!
Guest Docmjldds Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 He doesn't deserve it? You people are ingrates. Anybody unhappy with this rom should pack up their s*** sign off this forum and go back to stock if running an experimental rom is affecting your life so much. Also diaf to all the whining. I had for the past week ONLY been skimming and posting on the XDA site, instead of here. At least on that site, the whining is kept to a minimum. I have spent the last 30 min or so wasting my time here reading blame game posts. Users on this Forum that are WHINERS need to get a life and learn Forum etiquette while at it. I see you on the other Forum and this post was NOT directed at you. I am in agreement with you. I'm pretty sure you have replied to my posts also over on XDA. I just wanted to make a statement that I for one see no use of posting on this site, till possibly admin sends out reminders to user here about the purpose of why all of us are here.
Guest rhomberto Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 HI :( has anyone tried the disable trackball option in the kitchen?? I'm very curious about this option ..might upgrade membership for it ... :P any feedback would be cool ..thanks!! RHOM
Guest Shmoopty Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Problem with many HTC phones it seems. Get SmsFixTimes from the Market, it runs in the background after the first run and fixes every incoming timestamp, and every timestamp received from before, too! From the market description of SmsFixTimes: Fixes the timestamps on incoming SMS messages, for phones that have the Rogers SMS timestamp bug. For example, if all of your received SMS messages are two hours in the future, then this will set the times to your local time as soon as a message is received. I think that's a different issue than the one that's been discussed here so much. The bug I've observed on this ROM regarding SMS timestamps doesn't seem to be a timezone issue. It seems to be as if incoming SMS timestamps have correct day/hour/minute, but the seconds are chopped off.
Guest k2bk2bk2b Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 just tried A19 yesterday, switch back to A18 again. Prefer A18 as it's slightly better for me in all aspect. Looking forward to paul's next update.
Guest krumbsd Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Ran a search for this, but did not come up with anything useful. Upgraded to A19, and wifi seems to work only for couple of minutes. there is no change in signal strength or any other indicator to inform me that the connection has dropped. but the browser, market app, etc time out. the only way to get wifi working again seems to be to turn it off/ on. but again, couple of minutes later, it no longer transfers data. i restarted the router, wiped and reinstalled a19 twice, but no luck. my other android devices like the moto milestone and archos 5IT are working just fine on the same wifi network. so it is certainly an issue with the N1 and A19. any suggestions?

I had some wifi issues with A17 and 18. but it has since stop happening after i restored my nbackup after coming frm cm5.0.5.3 My only issues were while surfing it (wifi) would automatically turn itself off for awhile and on... the device seems to be trying to connect to Gprs then back to wifi when it was connected... usually causing a timeout on browser. Unfortunately no one else has such a problem. And thank gawd it stopped now...

I never noticed the seconds, just that the timezone was horribly off, and SmsFixTimes fixed things for me. This would show up only in the HTC Messaging app, not in the stock one. As far as I can see, the seconds are fine.
Guest mi_canuck Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Any way, or any plans, to include a feature in this ROM to have the home pages go landscape when the screen is rotated? I assume the widgets would present a challenge... but surely someone can figure out a nice algorithm to have the layout work itself out? :P
Guest aaronpaws Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Paul, any word on when we might see that trackball wake up? Also, just curious, but how long are you planning to keep the ROM alpha? Once you fix the major bugs (bluetooth, etc) are you gonna throw it into beta?

Guest Thetechnogeek Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Quick comment on the radio for this build- I have extensively tested ERE27B and the more recent radio, and find that the earlier radio gives me 18% more battery life on standby (that's all I've tested- from a full charge, reboot, no calls or other activity, just the phone in resting state, same location and position). Call clarity seems the same, and I'll now test the effect on battery life when on a call. Just thought I'd let the forum know my findings, YMMV :P

Guest ootherocoo Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hey guys, I'm on A17 on the T-mobile network. Up until yesterday, I could have sent and received MMS. Now I can't send or receive MMS. What can I do to fix this issue. Thanks for your help guys. HELP!!!
Guest mi_canuck Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 FEATURE REQUEST: any possibility in a future ROM, to replace the widget "+" button in the bottom right with a button that would launch Settings instead? i'm always going into settings view the menu key, requiring multiple clicks, but hardly ever use the widget "+" key, since you can long press on the back ground and achieve the same thing... dunno if it's possible, but that would be awesome if it could be done! :P thnx!!
