Which "settings" did you mean? Thank you

If you have a Mac open safari, click safari on the top left, preferences and it'll give you a option to automatic uncompress zip files. Uncheck it if its checked. For windows I don't think it will automatically extract zip files without you okaying it.

Ext4 if you have RA 1.7 and if you have RA 1.62 then i think you can do ext2 and ext3 but partition it at ext3.

What is not working? Is is the app? Is it a function is gvoice? I have and use gvoice all day everyday with alpha 18 which is no different then 19 20 or 21 except for some minor additions. If gvoice crashes uninstall it and download it from the market. if some function does not work try the same thing but it probably wont work because that would mean something else in code outside of gvoice is broken. BTW did you wipe before you flashed to this rom? if you didn't then you need to in order to get it working.

Okay.. I have it where I have 32MB of Swap..

I have 512 EXT2.. Now it's asking if i want to abort or continue..

Thanks Guys... SOOOOOO much.. You all know Ive never done this.. I know what to do.. But getting some general :P Help.. Relieves my "strees" in not screwing it up..

So detail please..

I think when i don't want it anymore all i need to do is unmount nad format right from settings on my N1...?

What's the best EXT to set it in MB.. I see that I have the option of first starting at ext2 then i can upgrade that same ext to 3 or 4.. whats the diffo? So its in steps I see.. But.. whats the best MB to partition at? So i could upgrade it then..?

Is this for all Apps2SD enabled roms also.. ?

Wow.. I feel like a Freaking NOOB..

Jesus.. LOL..

I have it setup at 64 mb swap and 1024 mb ext3.

I don't think you can just go back. I don't think it moves the apps back from your sd card to your phone. If some1 knows pls correct me.

Yeah.. I see..

Now.. The new Cyan Way stores them to /system/sd/app.. So I can view it in Astro right.. The old ways store in the EXT that is only viewable through this app... > http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...u-fbs-jmwq.aspx < Btw that's the only one that shows SD-Ext that i have seen.. plus it shows your symlinks and patched sections in a custom rom.. Dude.. it's sick. Plus it has a complet sd/device search and lists all your Active/SD files.. And finally viewing it through a mac/pc..

I am just curious about the recommendations.. Also I am using a 16Gb class four out the droid in mine.. If that helps in making it more Snappy.. Thanx

Also.. The ones I have now.. Installed.. What happens to those.. Do they get moved to the new EXT.. I did 64 swap and 1024 ext2.. Going to upgrade to ext4, since thats required on Cyans rom.. Right?

But desire can utilize this as well, correct?

mms working now!!! for some reason, my backed up APN settings didn't have the MMS proxy address or port location... all it had was the URL... wasn't able to send MMS... entered in the above proxy address...

MMS Proxy : 216.155.165.50

MMS Port : 8080

and bingo... MMS working on A19... woohoo! :P

What you have is more than enough. Note: class 4 has guaranteed data transfer of 4 MB/s and of course class 6 has guaranteed data transfer of 6 MB/s. The funny part is that people say they notice the difference between class 4 cards and class 6 and I am not sure how. I am photographer also and I use class 6 cards and originally i had class 4 and when i did move to class 6 i was able to easily tell the difference but the difference there since with DSLR i am taking 7 RAW images per second (1 raw image averages 8 MB) so what happens is that i trying to transfer about 56 MB and it is easy to tell the difference. So what i am trying to say here that most .apk files and their cache is so small that you cannot tell the difference unless you are pushing a lot of data. lol lets see how many ppl i confused.

No Confusion.. I am partitioned. thanks Guys.. I don't know why people get confused..

I think its what are the values when doing initially..

What does the swap do..

plus.. Where do all the apps that I have go.. Should I[buninstall everything and then re-install.. So theyre off the devices ram..

Also.. doing apps2sd speeds the device up correct? Cause the device stores the apk in ram?

I am having the same problems. I have the same setting but it does not work.. Did you back up the APN prior to Flash??

I am assuming you went back to the stock Nexus 1 rom and backed up the APN setting with the application APN Back up or Restore......

Flashed your N1 and then and the restored the APN back up..

Is this correct???????

any news on the new apps2sd procedure on amons v1.70 recovery?

I did 64 swap and 1024 ext2..

I do not think this Desire kernel has swap enabled.

Try "adb shell free", you will notice the swap is 0. You can try to manually activate the swap memory by typing "adb shell swapon /dev/block/mmcblk0p3". I got a kernel error message when I did that. Now I am using 640MB ext3 and 0 swap.

Update: Swap is not enable for a good reason, see http://zerocredibility.wordpress.com/2009/...snt-make-sense/

I read about the swap.. This is cool just to have.. So the only thing is when swap IS needed.. IT is present.

Yeah, the way it works is this... Upgrade your EXT to EXT4 and then you can enable it right from settings.. applications.. Thats bout it.. Then you can use.. > http://www.androlib.com/android.applicatio...u-fbs-jmwq.aspx < to explore.. It's really cool and easier.. Like i though I was going to bug out.. but... smoother than even rooting.. LOL.. hahaha..

I didnt have to put in any info in the APN when I flashed r21 this morning. I tested MMS by sending a message to my wife and this is where it gets strange. I got a read receipt and if I look at the message it still says pending in the HTC message but she replied so I know she got it.

Minor but working
