Guest JonnyRockets Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Doesn't HTC have 60 days to release the code before it becomes illegal? Hasn't it been longer than that already?... What the F
Guest xombe Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 no more updates for the desire rom :P i remember when we were getting updates every day or every few days. now nothing... Patience young grasshopper. There are usually always more updates in the beginning. This is because the small, apparent bugs stand out and can be rapidly fixed. Now that those are ironed out, the bigger things that take time are being tackled.

What the F The Desire itself has been released just under 2 months ago, I believe. Leaks don't count as releases :P Edited May 7, 2010 by Guest

Guest sb1972 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I have some questions: 1. Indicator signal varies, sometimes showing no signal, but can make calls. The network is Vodafone RO. The phone is set to GSM only. 2. Can I return to the original software? How? Thanks.
Guest JonnyRockets Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Is this true about the 60 days? According to Paul, yes: http://twitter.com/buxit/status/13119161481 http://twitter.com/PaulOBrien/statuses/13119278256 It seems like it's been AGES since the Desire was released... Guest Sylar2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 60 days since the first release of Desire? If yes so I guess we still have about 20 days left maximum, if they don't Paul will suit their a** :P

If yes so I guess we still have about 20 days left maximum, if they don't Paul will suit their a** :P Wow that is good news! I didn't knew HTC had a maximum amount of days between releasing the phone/firmware and releasing their kernel source. That should mean we can have a fully functional desire rom on our Nexus One eventually :D
Guest Nanu*1 Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I've been holding out for R22 and cannot wait for the kernel to be released, but by that time Froyo will probably have made an appearance and I will want to play with that..... :-(
Guest surheeho Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Files seem to be corrupted. Does anyone have a mirror?

That should mean we can have a fully functional desire rom on our Nexus One eventually :P It's got to do with the GPL license of the Linux kernel. If they want to stay within the law, they HAVE to release the source code they modified. That's the beauty of open-source, you can take from it which saves you work, but you also have to contribute your own work back. Everyone wins. sns.
