A lot of things could be deleted:

1) Launcher2.apk = 4.772.468 byte (Rosie is our launcher)

2) com.htc.StockWidget.apk = 297.576 byte

3) Stock.apk = 386.455 byte

4) DCSStock.apk = 19.974 byte

5) HtcFootprints.apk = 920.126 byte

6) HtcFootprintsWidget.apk = 711.430 byte

7) preInstall.opml inside /customize/resource = 23.212 byte

8) PCSCII.apk = 238.896 byte

9) PDFViewer.apk = 189.902

10) libpdfreader.so = 2.981.332 byte

11) Quickoffice.apk = 1.953.846 byte

12) teeter.apk = 1.501.219 byte

13) Facebook.apk = 843.454 kb (there's already inside the rom & there's FriendStream)

14) Bootscreen entire folder in /media = 911.306 byte

15) HtcFMRadio.apk = 814.366 byte (It doesn't works [yet])

16) HTCAlbum = 957.192 byte (We have 3DGallery)

We could save 15.397.717 byte

Then we should have just one of these

HTC_IME.apk + libt9.so = 4.219.031 + 361.044 = 4.580.075 byte

VoiceSearchWithKeyboard.apk = 3.302.582 byte

Personally I prefer HTC_IME cause I'm Italian and Voice is for English/US People only.

Original ROM -- 125 MB (131.117.059 byte)

Actually My Rom is now 107 MB (112.496.287 byte)

about 20mb less, not too much... I Know but I've 158Mb free

I had alpha 7 working fine, now that I am trying to install alpha 8, I am getting error messages E: =Error finishing BOOT, failure at line 378

What should i do know? Help please.

I had this also. Same thing happened with cyanogenmod 5.0.3 :/

I got around the too big boot.img by:

1 - flash alpha 8 update in recovery

2 - after boot.img fail reboot into fastboot.

3 - unzip alpha7 update.zip file and flash boot.img from alpha7 in fastboot

4 - grab latest .32 undervolt stock clock kernel at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634587

5 - flash zimage zImage

6 - adb remount; adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules

definitely running alpha8 as I have the pinchzoom maps

I guess the only downside of this is I'll be missing whatever kernel mods that modaco did that the .32 undervolt kernel doesnt have??? wifi works and I have himem though so i'm happy.

I can not offer help but I can tell you that I have had the exact same problem so it is not your approach from what I can tell.

maybe for you, but i dont use rosie/sense. my main reason for this rom is the browser, i like the look of 2.1 as is. Im sure others have uses for other things on your list as well

Anyone else having issues sending MMS? Or know of a way to change MMS settings? Pictures just sit there and the message says pending. (I'm using AT&T)

Its very strange at my end. Did a full wipe twice (made all the wipes on the meny in the RA 1.6.0 recovery) and even though its says Alpha 8 in About phone after it boots, after a reboot it changes back to Alpha 7 in the text.

Himem isnt there, 150MB free.

Did anything get stored on the SDCard that I need to remove? I have never played around with A2SD.

i'm using the 1.53 recovery img. did you also wipe the dalvik cache? no sure it will help, but i do it every time i flash a different ROM. kinda old school here: wipe data & dalvik cache and reinstall the few apps i use. (fingers-crossed) this approach has served me well so far. i'm up and running. call me (super-duper-super) lucky but my jawbone connected on the first attempt. i enabled Discovery and under Advanced Settings, disabled the FTP Server, then scanned for devices and it found and paired with my jawbone. tried to pair with my Win7 64Bit laptop and Bluetooth cackled and crashed, lol. also, got a message that the Android Bootloader Interface was installed... this is the first time I've seen this message. anyone know what this is? thanks.

2. delete unwanted apk

3. zip what's left , copy into N1, flash

I used conditional "could" and it's for people like me that don't follow Stocks, Footprints... etc etc

there is a lot of useless stuff inside the rom, but if you love to have a broken FMRadio, play with it.

U must "resign" the rom... not hard to do, not easy too

I also cannot get BT to pair, it starts, and my PC sees it, but will not connect, my Ant z9i headset will not show up during scanning.

When i switch back to Cyan's ROM, BT works np.

are they seeing something different with the "free" command? i have the same 394MB that you report. on first boot, my free memory was down to 80MB, but increased to 260MB when i issued an "End All" via Task Manager 4.0.

Im not sure. No one has reported back the results from typing that in but they are saying that you guys over here are also saying that highmem's not working

The kernel in the rom has highmem already. It's the UV kernel by persiansown based of cyan's source which has highmem
