Guest Vegito168 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 The kernel in the rom has highmem already. It's the UV kernel by persiansown based of cyan's source which has highmem Ah ok. Thanks. That's one less thing to do then. Appreciate the reply.

As I mentioned earlier and was confirmed by Paul, the kernel needs to match the .ko. With all these updates, somewhere along the way you're bound to hit a mismatch. This version also provides for overclocking and undervolting (thus the OC-UV). Time for me to try Alpha8 I suppose.... backup, WIPE, flash, conditioner, rinse, repeat... the cycle continues. Lookin forward to this version should be very very close to beta at this point.
Guest louie_figo Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Just flashed to alpha 8 on my N1, but I am still having missing apps issue in android market. I can't search for Twidroid (lite and pro) and Barcode Reader. I also tried to install Barcode Reader by going to Google.com via the browser. Went to the top menu in Google->More->Shopping->Read Barcode. It launched the Android market app, but then said it couldn't find the application. Please help!
Guest t2abousa Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Im considering going back to Alpha 7, i dunno, just seemed smoother and the battery seemed better off...what do u guys think?

Also tried going back to A7 and reflashing the radio.. +++EDIT - Seems to be working now - Had to take battery out for a few mins and reboot.. Died again lasted about 10 mins that time.. Crap.. Yea I think its working now, my signal is odd though goes from full to 1 bar to full and i'm sitting 10 feet from router (always had full before). Not sure if its due to A8 or something else.
Guest XZQ't Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 don't unzip nothing... U must "resign" the rom... not hard to do, not easy too Could anyone please point me somewhere that has instruction how to sign the ROM ? Thanks
Guest chinatown3283 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 A8 works great! did a backup (Nandroid), wipe, flash A8, reboot and right away the phone asked to do a restore which worked fine. no issues with wifi here...the BT is kinda buggy, when pairing had to click the "discoverable" option and then it picked up my jawbone prime and connected. have to do it every time i turn off my headset for that matter. I was getting the "loading" message stuck in the mini calendar widget but that went away by itself. the google contact sync is taking a bit of time (same issue with A7) but all loads with no issues. the ONLY issue i had with A7 and is still in A8 is the incoming call, my phone rings as normal but when a "call waiting" comes in i hear a high-pitch-static sound from the speaker AND/OR through my BT headset! its driving me crazy, i tried all the ringtones, different volume levels....i can't seem to find the problem and not sure if anyone else is having the same problem?
Guest Richard557 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 umm so im trying to think why i have wi-fi issues .. would it make any differance if i formatted my SD card aswell as a full WIPE ??
Guest thalib Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Installed the rom.. Looks very fine and faster with more system storage available.. Bluetooth seems to have some problems as i cannot pair the device with another.. Also +++ point as the recharge notification led now acts as a notification as it blinks when u have missed call and new message.. etc.. Also Paul is it possible to port the stock contacts manager just like u did port the gallery... If this is done will be very nice...
Guest thalib Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Can anyone post the nexus stock contact manager as an update... Htc one is not so gooood... Messes with contacts after restoring adding - between numbers... __________________
Guest nexvision Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 BT still wont pair over here...
Guest salamandar Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 BT still wont pair over here... To verify, wiped, loaded Cyan, BT paired to my BlueAnt Z9i right away, wiped, loaded A8, BT will not find my BlueAnt Z9i. Bummer, freakin luv the A8 build too!
Guest strykker56 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 (edited) Yup , same here . Bluetooth scan will see all 3 of my BT devices but when i hit pair it just says pairing for a while and then give a the " there was a problem pairing " messege. was same in A7 . i did full wipe and then clean install of Alpha 8. love this rom, but really missing the bluetooth. steve ok update FOR THOSE HAVING BT TROUBLE. this is what i did to get mine working , thought id throw it out there. 1. put device in pairing mode 2. hit scan for device , then right after you start scan, check the discoverable box.(your device should show up ) 4. Now hit pair and right after UNCHECK discoverable it should succsefully pair . for some wierd reason toggling the discoverable box fixes pairing failure. did for me anyway 5. now just hit connect. if this doesnt work for you try altering the check/ uncheck on discoverable sequence anyhow hope this helps , tried this 5 times to make sure it wasnt a fluke, also tried it normally , still wouldnt pair using normal method, but worked fine using the above method later , steve Edited February 23, 2010 by strykker56
Guest Klarato Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Was able to pair to my Blueant bluetooth unit fine. Wifi is working fine. That backup feature this rom has was amazing saved all my different wifi passwords etc saved me the hassle of retyping them all. So far rom is running great. Was on A7 wiped everything 3 times over loaded up A8 no issues at all to report. <3 that the N1 gallary was added back in =D
Guest Jfsikora Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Can anyone verify that MMS hangs on "pending" when sending? Flashed to another ROM and it sends fine just not on alpha 8.
Guest Richard557 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Well i kind of fixed my Wi-Fi Issue... i installed 1.0-ERE27-nexusone-superboot-himem wi-fi now working good .. now do i wipe then install A8 ? or go ahead and install A8 on top .. not sure how i should do this
