Guest markdental Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Ditto on the BT and camera. It's the only thing keeping this from being my daily driver. Great job Paul!!!
Guest squirreleater Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks for this Paul. What in my opinion the Nexus needed, Vanilla Android is a bit too 'googlie' ,that is, functions fine but lacking any sparkly bits. I'm on Alpha 9, will we need to wipe for future updates?
Guest AndiTails Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Amazing work (in progress) Paul - love it. Have to say, the HTC Messaging app is slow and painful in comparison to the Google default, so I'm glad that option is in the kitchen! It does look beautiful though - I love all the tweaks. My WiFi keeps turning itself on though? Not sure if it's mentionned in all these pages :( Not the end of the world - just a bit annoying as I have the WiFi notification thing too. Next Kitchen I'll take that out I think :( Really love it though - great work.
Guest h2pure Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 first of all just wanna say thanks for this awesome ROM.. is anyone else getting problems with the favorites contacts? after they appeared on the widget, they all just disappeared and I can't re-add them. Strange..
Guest NexusCody Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Working great for me on Wifi, installation and other such setup items. However, I'm still seeing the Bluetooth issues experienced in the Alpha 7 build. Basically, I can't synch with my car right now, nor can I synch with the NexusOne Dock (although this might be expected - since I'm not running the NexusOne ROM anymore).
Guest astradtner Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Just wanted to say great work on this rom. I have a kitchen baked version, and my only issues are the BT issue and none of the tethering is working (Wired or wireless) Wired tether says the kernel isn't configured for tethering, and the Wireless tether FCs every time I open it. I'm going to try a different kitchen configuration to see if it helps.
Guest nycnerd Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 The only light is the light from my phone, so its really not working as it should. Had this before with the Hero, some time ago.. Same issue here. Scrubbed, wiped and rinsed still the backlight is not turning on :(
Guest AndiTails Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Hmmm, I can't access the SD card on my laptop via the USB cable. If I have debugging disabled, I get nothing - if I enable debugging, I get a 'Removable Disk' but there's no disk in it... All working fine on the Nexus - can access the SD card, etc - just can't from the PC? I chose to remove HTC Sync - should still work without that though? I do (still) have the card partitioned with an ext3 partition and a swap partition... I don't use A2SD (or Swap) however...

(Alpha 9 via the kitchen) I had the same issues as you, couldn't see the sd card whatever I did.
Guest runningrock Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks! You guys do good work. fyi, Bluetooth still seems to be on the fritz. I tried both A8 and A9 after a wipe and it still either just won't discover, or will discover, but not pair. On the big list of stuff to address I'm sure it's low on the priority list. Thanks again!
Guest astradtner Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 No success with a pared down kitchen build for the tethering or BT either. Worth a try. Going back to A7 for the time being. How would I go about removing the boot music manually?
Guest AndiTails Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 squirreleater, perfect. I had tried that briefly, but must've given up and disabled again whereas my laptop took about 10 seconds before the SD card finally appeared! Whadda mistaka to maka! :(
Guest kash521 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Is anyone having a problem with the HTC messaging app? My friends are telling me that I'm sending double of EVERY text message... :(
Guest rhca Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Is anyone having a problem with the HTC messaging app? My friends are telling me that I'm sending double of EVERY text message... :( I'm using google voice and don't see that problem, but my outgoing calls are set to all use google voice, and it appears to go out from the regular phone number... Does Google voice need to be integrated to the rom image, rather than installed from the market?
Guest proengin Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) Hi Paul, Many thanks for your great work! The Alpha 9 kitchen has been running stable for 12 hours. May I suggest couple improvements? 1. Add Wysie's WyContacts 1.1 (based on N1's stock Contact and Dialer but with tons of useful modifications) as an option to replace Desire's stock Contact and Dialer. Currently, I have to use root explorer to remove Desire's contacts and dialer related apk's from /system/app with a lot of FC's afterward just to force the Phone button in Rosie to open WyContacts but it took me to the call log tab instead of Dialer. Is there a way to direct the Phone button to open dialer? 2. Can the N1 stock static and Live wallpapers be combined with Desire's wallpaper folders? Currently, these folders seem to have messed up. Thanks. Please keep up with the good works! Patrick Edited February 24, 2010 by proengin
Guest louie_figo Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Tried alpha 9, great work Paul! But I can confirm that apps are still missing in Android market. E.g. barcode reader, twidroid. Thanks!
Guest joshyth1012 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 the alpha9 is working out fine for me, but the trackball notification light is not lighting up at all(instead it's the tiny light on the top right side of the screen lighting up). also, the four touch buttons is not lighting up at all for me, even when i'm in a total dark room.

Guest soner607 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Nice work Paul! One question thou, I'm new to Android and would like to get Apps to SD working. I selected it in your kitchen however can't get it to work. Tried to do a EXT3 partition from recovery and my phone locks up at the HTC boot screen. Can only get the phone to boot up by removing the SD card now. Any idea what I did wrong? I've tried to read up on this, but no familiar with all the Android lingo... :(
Guest theslam10 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I have the same issue. They light up here :(. Goin to play :( THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK MAN! (BTW, put in US money for your subscription page, as I at first thought it was 29.99 'dollars' lol. Sorry, didnt have the real amount...)

Guest sealos Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Paul, Enjoying cooking in the kitchen... now I'm hooked! Would like to request the following additions to the kitchen: + Stock Mail app + Google Voice Also, my key backlights aren't working. Not a biggie, but would love to get the backlight working at some point. Cheers, Sealos
Guest AndroidFREAK Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Sorry to ask this question here but I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my nexus one. I downloaded the alpha9 and copied it over to my SD card and renamed it to update.zip. Booted in recovery mode and tried to update from sd card but i keep getting "E:signature verification failed". Any Suggestions?

Any Suggestions? Not sure absolutely, but maybe you need AmonRA's recovery image first? I didnt try without it, so I'm not sure, but its something to try...
