Guest irenic Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Good morning friends! I've managed to get the kernel config from a Bravo, so i'm now diff-ing that against ours to see if it holds any clues to the Bluetooth issue. :( P Morning to u too Paul ! I flashed to alpha9 from your online kitchen last night and so far I havent got any problem with the rom. and once you fix the bluetooth and camera, I can say it's super duper perfect for me~ thanks a lot for your hard work!

Guest ascito Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) One more issue with wifi: once paired, if you go out its range, when you go in again it won't connect automatically ... Battery seems also to go down fastly. after 4 hours of a modest use, it is @ 60%. Was the kernel undervolted? Would work with this rom? Edited February 24, 2010 by ascito

Guest kkempe Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Next bug I found: when you set the mobile connection do gsm only and if you need speed you switch back to automatic or WCDMA, the phone wouldn't connect to mobile internet. If you switch mobile connection to off it reconnects with UMTS...

Guest richy Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Sorry to ask this question here but I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my nexus one. I downloaded the alpha9 and copied it over to my SD card and renamed it to update.zip. Booted in recovery mode and tried to update from sd card but i keep getting "E:signature verification failed". Any Suggestions? Try not renaming the zip file (keep it exactly the same name as when you downloaded it

Guest squirreleater Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) Guys and Gals, Remember this is only an Alpha build, it will have bugs, also remember Paul is off on his holibobs this week, so faffing around with minor bug fixes may stop him doing something important. We've got a sense ui for our N1's weeks before it officially exists- I'm just happy with it as it is :( Who'd of thought the most popular rom for the N1 would be a MCR when there are so many high profile rom chefs with N1's? :( Paul, I thought you did a bit on roms to start with and then 'take a back seat' to let the other chefs run with it?! Now, about the bugs my N1 has.............. Edited February 24, 2010 by squirreleater
Guest 7wonders Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Is it possible to make the wake up using trackball and/or volume button optional? Maybe im just wearing tighter jeans today or something but i keep waking up the phone in my pocket and calling people and stuff.

Guest saquib Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I have the same problem, but not sure if you can actually wake the phone up using the trackball or volume keys. Occasionally when I put the phone to sleep using the power key, it actually turns itself back on with a couple of seconds and goes to the the unlock screen. I think the same thing might be happening to you ? Is it possible to make the wake up using trackball and/or volume button optional? Guest teknologist Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 The same here. After uninstall/reinstall, only wifi tether worked. USB doesn't. Ok spent some time this morning with Harald (the maker of the wifi and wired tether apps) and he'll be releasing a new wired tether package that works with 2.6.32 kernels (the issue was not TCK specific, was 2.6.32 kernel tree rather, for the techies kernel 2.6.32 changes the way it presents USB RNDIS devices to the android system). So expect a new Wired tether that works with all 2.6.32 kernel based ROMS

Guest ascito Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Ok, I have installed UV + OC Kernel and it works. Now I will test battery life to see if smt changes. I also installed native_trackball_colors from XDA and it also seems to work!

Guest Dayzee Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 A2SD might well require a wipe of ext partition to work - especially if you have had it on another OM and oit already has stuff on it - Gonna be looking in wrong places maybe with this ROM since the Partitions have changed sizes to fit the Desire ROM. I personally haven't got this ROM but the Manup one from XDA but its built on Pauls work. I had probs all round - did Factory wipe - boot looped, so did wipe of Ext partition and reformatted (Stupidly wiping my Fat32 in the process - I know... ) Remember to copy your stuff to PC then Format card with AmonRa's recovery :( After that the ROM worked brilliantly and A2SD was fine. Probably didn't need to reformat - I'm thinking just the wipe of the ext partition would have done the trick. Dayz

Guest rahan95 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Due to the BT issue, I reverted to a CM Rom Couldn't stand it for more than 10 minutes This Desire rom is really adictive =)

Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I've been 100% focused on diagnosing the BT problem, but unfortunately there's no progress so far. The bottom up Bluetooth implementation seems to differ significantly from what we have on the Nexus One ROMs. I'm optimistic this will be fixed in a future Beta, it's a case of balancing time / effort at the moment when the release is so early. P
Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Hi Paul , Here below : OK so this tells me... - you have a EXT2 partition - it's correctly mounted - the links to the appropriate /data folders are set up In short, it should all work! :/ You could try upgrading your SD partition to ext3 from recovery first, to see if that helps, but I don't see why it should. Did you wipe before updating? P
Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Out of interest, have you set up a swap partition? have you tried without a swap partition? P
