Guest Docmjldds Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Try not renaming the zip file (keep it exactly the same name as when you downloaded it Also, you need a to do a wipe I believe on the first install of any version of this ROM. Subsequent wipes not required. (At least this was needed when first installing Alpha 7)
Guest ugomor1970 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 OK so this tells me... - you have a EXT2 partition - it's correctly mounted - the links to the appropriate /data folders are set up In short, it should all work! :/ You could try upgrading your SD partition to ext3 from recovery first, to see if that helps, but I don't see why it should. Did you wipe before updating? P Yes i wipe before updating , yes i have swap 32mb , but i don't understand , because when i use with 5.0.3 everything works
Guest soner607 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 A2SD might well require a wipe of ext partition to work - especially if you have had it on another OM and oit already has stuff on it - Gonna be looking in wrong places maybe with this ROM since the Partitions have changed sizes to fit the Desire ROM. I personally haven't got this ROM but the Manup one from XDA but its built on Pauls work. I had probs all round - did Factory wipe - boot looped, so did wipe of Ext partition and reformatted (Stupidly wiping my Fat32 in the process - I know... ) Remember to copy your stuff to PC then Format card with AmonRa's recovery :( After that the ROM worked brilliantly and A2SD was fine. Probably didn't need to reformat - I'm thinking just the wipe of the ext partition would have done the trick. Dayz What ext partition are you using that you got a2sd to work(2, 3, 4)? Also what size is your swap and how much did you allocate to the ext partition?

Guest kkempe Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 UPDATE: Alright I couldn't wait any longer, so I backed up my SD Card, repartitioned it and ran the flash with A2SD. No Bootloop anymore. Everything works as expected.
Guest ugomor1970 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 EXT2 1028MB SWAP 32MB SORRY EXT2 1024 SWAP 32MB
Guest soulpilot Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 hi Paul any progress on camera flash !!!
Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 The online kitchen has been updated to Alpha 10! The main download will be updated shortly. This is a non wipe updated for Alpha 8 or Alpha 9 users, and has minor changes only (see below). Changelog Alpha 10Now includes Teknologist's TCK 0.5. Minor config tweaks to bring config closer to that of the original Bravo after we obtained stock Bravo config.Minor updates to boot image, should fix issues with key backlights and repeat notifications. Also adds flashing LED for notifications.
Guest Dayzee Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 GETTING A2SD WORKING _ TOP TIPS :( Right I just baked a ROM from the Alpha 9 kitchen with A2SD in - First I nandroided my NexDesire ROM from Manup on XDA Then tried with just a Factory Wipe - install seems to go OK, but sticks on the Quietly Brilliant screen (Left it for 25 mins) So, I then plugged in my USB and used adb to reboot into recovery adb reboot recovery Then once in recovery, I chose wipe then Ext and wiped the Ext3 partition I have. Then once that completed I flashed the exact same Kitchen Rom again and evrything boots up perfectly :( So I do think they key is that A2SD needs a clean Ext partition to boot properly for desire ROM. (This has been the case for both the Desire ROMs I've tried) BUT there is then no easy way to restore all your progs so you have to start from scratch I'm afraid. Dayz xx
Guest soner607 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 SORRY EXT2 1024 SWAP 32MB Thanks bro! I'll give this a shot....

Guest inf Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Are these builds based on ERE27 or ERE36B?
Guest Paul Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Neither, they're based on the Bravo base, which I *believe* is actually ERD79! P

Guest AndroidFREAK Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) My first rom that I installed on my nexus was the alpha 9 and just now i updated to alpha 10 without wiping. On both alpha 9 and 10 I seem to have my cell signal drops all the way to no bars and then comes back continuously. Is there some sort of fix for that? Also My trackball does not pulse when there is a notification. Instead the top right led light flashes green. Edited February 24, 2010 by AndroidFREAK
Guest katermuc Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) still no notification light on trackball (for i.g. SMS notification) Edited February 24, 2010 by katermuc
