Guest 7500usr Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Odd, I don't get anything, no light indicating it's full charge, the screensaver doesn't stay on or anything. Let me test a little more and I will report back, I only made sure it charged but didnt watch to see if anything else happened.
Guest soulpilot Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I did a ctrl + f for "framework" on the past 10 pages and couldn't find the post you mentioned. Can you link back? Also, can you share what you've done?? Looks awesome original transparent one with stock icons is @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...p;postcount=620 can't upload the framework-res.apk here as it is not allowed (just tried) :(
Guest Dayzee Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Just wondering how difficult it would be to add the Stock Nexus camera app to this, so that I have a Useable camera with flash until the desire cam works properly... Could I push it in ? (Not sure if that would be ridiculously hard... ) Dayz xxx
Guest gr8gorilla Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I have a same problem with 10! e:Failure at line 3: copy_dir PACKAGE_datA DATA: 9 to 10 without wipe Wipe was necessary! I had the exact same error! I wiped everything including ext to get it to install. Couldn't "UPDATE".
Guest ascito Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 (edited) one major difference between Nexus One stock ROM and Desire ROM that has bothered me quite a bit: In Nexus One ROM, the major settings such as wifi passwords, bookmarks, installed apps are backed up to your default GMAIL account, and whenever u install a new stock ROM, or switch to a different phone, the backup will automatically restored. Its a rather sweet function and saves loads of time when setting up new phone/new ROM. However in Desire ROM, it doesnot seem to read any setting backups from GMAIL at all. There is an option to backup settings to SD card, but i haven't actually figure out if it works at all. I know there are backup apps that can do similar jobs rather easily, but they are generally rather manual when compare to Google's automatic restore/backup. Which GMAIL fiction allows you to backup pw, WiFi, bookmark...? Edited February 24, 2010 by ascito
Guest Robert Davidson Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Hi Paul, Had a bit of time on my hands tonight while keeping an eye on the footie so decided to try and get to grips with this MMS problem that im having. Firstly I decided to start with a complete wipe, installed MCR 1.7, after setup completed went into APN's and set up for Vodafone MMS, sent picture message to my other phone, received it and sent reply. Made a Nand Backup. Did a full wipe again and installed CyanogenMod-5.0.3.1, completed inital setup and again went to APN's and set up for Vodafone MMS, sent picture message to my other phone, received it and sent reply. Made a Nand Backup. Did a wipe and installed MCR Alpha 10, completed inital setup and again went to APN's and set up for Vodafone MMS, sent picture message to my other phone, message did not send, everthing else works fine but this problem is making me go mad. I have used the same picture for all 3 tests, size 24kb, the APN for each install is exactally the same. Any Ideas?

Guest 7500usr Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I did, I dont think the radio would cause a charging issue. Mine fired right up when I put it in the Dock, its not perfect like it was with the stock rom but it does charge. so charging works, top LED comes on and phone charges, but different from alpha 9 no screen change, it used to bring up the dock screen a little messed up but it came up, now nothing.
Guest cezent Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Which GMAIL fiction allows you to backup pw, WiFi, bookmark...? on ur nexus one: Setting - Privacy - Back up my settings, bookmark, wifi password, apps and some others will be saved to ur google account and carry over when u switch (native android) ROM or phone.
Guest DougEdey Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 so charging works, top LED comes on and phone charges, but different from alpha 9 no screen change, it used to bring up the dock screen a little messed up but it came up, now nothing. I'll try and get the battery to discharge a bit, but when I docked it normally the green light comes on to indicate a full charge. I don't get that. Did you wipe + flash or use a custom kernel?
Guest kylyox Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Facebook contacts show email like : {"email:"[email protected]" ... Is it a facebook problem or not ?
Guest louie_figo Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 hey, can anyone on alpha10 quickly do a search on the android market for twidroid pro and barcode reader to see if the missing app issue is addressed? Cheers!

Guest Shmoopty Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 +1 or if there is a 5mp res and 720p rec fix out there yet? :( It will be nice to see the flash working, however... Has it been noted how phenomenal this rom's macro focus is compared to the stock Nexus camera? This is my monitor? Really??
Guest forcedfab Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 here's a link for the barcode app , I uploaded it to rapidshare Barcode App

I don't get that. Did you wipe + flash or use a custom kernel? Damnit, replying to myself, it turns out I needed a reboot after installing everything. I think the instructions should state "Reboot after first boot" Wasn't that, turns out, if I'm in "Terminal Emulator" as root (su'd) then the light won't come on and the screen won't stay lit. If I exit su and go back to normal user it's fine. Edited February 24, 2010 by DougEdey

Guest PeRKoniX Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Maybe I'm stupid but I can't seem to find the password for ssh access(enabled in kitchen) This allows you to connect to your device over SSH. The SSH password (username 'root') can be found in the device 'About' screen. The device listens on port 2222. Does the 'about' screen mean the Settings > "About this phone"? or is it somewhere else?
Guest T0pgun Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Shmoopty Now thats what i call a good macro shot, impressive!

The SD backup seems to do the same as the Gmail backup did on the nexus stock ROM. You simply say 'yes' when it asks you if you want to back up to SD... when you install a new ROM after a wipe it will say its detected a backup on your SD card and say 'Yes' to use this backup and you'll have your settings etc put into place
Guest trevorwhopkins Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I have a serious problem. I noticed a bug in the Desire alphas where sometimes when the backlight went off during a call it would not come back on when the i took the phone away from my face. It always came back on eventually. Ok now yesterday I flash alpha 8 and it worked fine. Now all of a sudden I reboot my phone bc the battery dies and the backlight won't come on at all! I know the phone is on because the haptic feedback and cap buttons are on and if I leave it on I can tell it's getting notifications. How am I supposed to fix this?! I can't even see anything to get into recovery! My phone is unusable.
Guest astradtner Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Just an FYI for those (like me) that were waiting for the wired tethering: There is a new version of Wired Tether (1.2) available at http://code.google.com/p/android-wired-tether/ It does work with A10. Just tried. :(
Guest Kruzkal Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 (edited) Voice Search on Car Home doesn't seems to work. EDIT: Voice Search from holding search button at home screen doesn't work neither. Edited February 25, 2010 by Kruzkal
Guest Docmjldds Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I had the exact same error! I wiped everything including ext to get it to install. Couldn't "UPDATE". I have not experienced this. Other than the initial wipe prior to installing alpha 7, the installs have all been a non issue. The only thing I can think of is a corrupt download. I have no problems mounting USB with the third party app. Is it me, or why do I have to keep reinstalling Maps. But one installed, no issues with GPS as others report. Backlight keys still flaky here. Hmmm, Nexus calculator had a few more advanced functions from menu. HTC version lack this. Syncing works fine with Gmail, Calendar, weather etc. Just trying to give a quick overview of issues I see others have had, since installing Alha 10 and playing for one hour :( PS.....Found a great source for a quick and dirty method to play Flac files, till Paul can incorporate Cyanogens built in Flac support. Below is info and an easy install, that works on non rooted phones too... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575923 File Type: zip andLess.apk.zip (141.5 KB, 181 views) PPS...hope I'm not violating any Forum rules with posting links to another source. If so, my apologies.
