Guest dogei22 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I've now tried both Alpha9 and A10 but still can not get Bluetooth to work. I've tried with 2 different (Nokia) BT headsets but a scan will not detect them. Reboot, re-flash etc. does not seem to help. (Tested both BT headsets with the MCR 1.6 build for N1 and they work just fine). I also tried to connect N1 with desire A10 with my laptop over BT. The laptop finds it but gives an error when actually trying to connect. Otherwise the build works just about perfectly.

I DON'T KNOW WHY ? SOMEONE CAN HELP ME ? This is a known issue, it is being worked on. Please search the thread. Also, CAPS LOCK IS NOT CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL. Turn the caps lock off.
Guest PeRKoniX Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 My previously mentioned problem with ssh password not showing in about dialog has been solved. After a reboot it did show up. I though have have rebooted before... but maybe that was with alpha 9. Can't recall anymore... updates are being released so fast :(
Guest DougEdey Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Works properly here.... It's odd, it used to work on the alpha9 build. All I did was cook the ROM without the HTC gadgets/widgets. I'll try reflashing the default Alpha10 ROM and see if it comes back. I get loads of HTC "Unknown" widgets on my current build.
Guest bahadur.choongh Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Known Issues Changelog Alpha 10Now includes Teknologist's TCK 0.5. Minor config tweaks to bring config closer to that of the original Bravo after we obtained stock Bravo config.Minor updates to boot image, should fix issues with key backlights and repeat notifications. Also adds flashing LED for notifications.Repacked boot image, including TCK 0.4, to avoid flashing issue. Minor kernel config tweaks.'Car Home' included by request.Bootsound removed - it will be an optional extra in the kitchen. It was annoying me. :(Hugely, HUGELY, optimised for space. Only the framework sits on /data now (and there's 12MB free on system currently!), and I foresee that with more work, we might even be able to fit everything on /system!dalvik-cache moved to /cache, this frees up a ton of space on /data.32 Custom kernel by myself and teknologist with undervolt for low frequencies only, our usual modules etc. for VPN, tun and the like, props to persiansown for the UC source and cyanogen for the kernel git - this should fix Bluetooth!USB mount app preinstalledMaps 4 port by Brut preinstalled which adds multitouch and non US navigation (both tested)Gallery 3D app from Nexus One preinstalled (multitouch tested and working)Added default android keyboard with voice search - also fixes voice search issues!Added alternate news widget from Nexus One (GenieWidget)Online kitchen for MoDaCo Ad Free / Plus members (see my sig for deets)Slimmed down customize directory with added en-US - thanks qteknology for the inspiration. All the space counts!Fixed issue with ringtones listAlpha 6 [*]Changes to try and resolve random reboots Alpha 5 [*]Fixed white screen on boot, wifi and update-script issues [*]Fixed graphical glitching Alpha 1-4 [*]Disastrous when do you think a beta will be out??
Guest inf Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 when do you think a beta will be out?? I think after he gets his hand on a newer/real beta build for the Desire
Guest Paul Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Hi Guys (and gals)! Thought i'd drop in and catch up / update one last time prior to heading offline until Tuesday! I'm sure you'll all be active in this topic while i'm away, what I love about communities is how everyone helps each other out etc., when I'm back i'll catch up with all the latest developments / requests / fixes etc., who knows, maybe we'll have a new drop from HTC by then (fingers crossed!) :( Ad Free / Plus members, if there's anything you'd like to see in the kitchen that isn't there yet, do share and i'll do my best. One REALLY exciting thing I plan to add next week is a little button that lets you upload your own zip file (up to 10MB) which then gets merged into the ROM update zip. So if you'd like something if your own baked into /data or /system, you can do that! :( With regards to the outstanding problems with the build, it is kinda tricky because at this time we don't know what works on a real Desire and what doesn't, i.e. what is a problem with the ROM and the what is a problem with the port. I notice that a few other devs are basing on my ROM now, which is cool, it means they too are working on fixes and will hopefully contribute them back! The 3 main 'issues' as I see them and their current status... - Bluetooth - Bluetooth is patchy / unreliable and although i've spent a lot of time on this, there's no real progress yet. The Bluetooth libraries in the Desire ROM are pretty different to the N1 ROM (in a good way - they have more services I believe), but this does mean it's non trivial to 'switch in' the N1 ROM libraries at this time. - Camera - I see manup has got the flash working in his ROM now, which is cool - he's a good guy so i'm sure he will contribute this back to the wider effort. Given time and persistence, the Camera app can also be modified to enable 5 Megapixel mode. I'll look into this on my return if it's still an issue and we haven't had a new Beta drop. - Missing Market Apps - this is the real weird one - I can't really see why this is happening. In the past, Market contents have been based purely on the device's fingerprint (which I have deliberately set to match the N1 ERD79 intial release for compatability) and the operator identification. I've dug into this one pretty deeply, the one thingI suspect and haven't pursued yet is that the device's properties from the RIL are somehow being incorrectly reported by the OS, although if that was the case, Market Enabler should fix it. If anyone wants to pursue this, I would try the following... - download and install Market Enabler from here (don't run it yet) - type 'adb shell rm -f /data/data/com.android.vending/cache/* && adb shell killall com.android.vending' - run market enabler and set the region to T-Mo/USA - test the market! And with that, i'm outta here, the snowboard is waxed and the powder beckons... :( P

Very odd, I did a reboot after mentioning that and the scoreboard widget came back. I suspect the unknown widgets are leftovers from the SenseUI expecting stuff
Guest rahan95 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Enjoy your well deserved holidays Paul !

Guest q173242 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 yes, sd and device were fully wiped - rebooted a couple of times but still getting these weird messages
Guest Docmjldds Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Ha! Awesome. I'm working on a work project that involves creating a db of specific info about Nevada casinos. I was up to M and thought I'd see how it looked on Alpha9. That's when i ran into the flash errors. Going back to Alpha8 brought the Flash 10.1 back. I dunno, it just seems to work better for my purposes. I just was curious if others were having flash issues. You are the first to report Flash working at all. I have tested since version 7 and it's been a no go. Known issues though, along with Camera flash which is confusing posters here with the term "flash" and not working.

Flash sites seem to be working fine with me - can play games on the web and even watched some of the Spurs match on my phone last night which clearly mentioned needing Flash 10 to view :( That was on Alpha 9 btw but still have flash games working today on Alpha 10.
Guest Recondo1202 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Hey Guys... Flashed after doing a clean wipe. Using a 8gb class 6 SD card; 32mb swap file; 512 ext2; TMO USA; ERE27 for first 24 hours; ERE36B for second 24 hours My findings after 48 hours of use on Alpha 10. Stuff that does not work or Issue: Voice Search does not work; both through CarHome, Google Search and via the stock Andorid Keyboard and HTC Keyboard Bookmarks in Browser do not show screen snapshot; The Edit view shows but not the other two views Bluetooth: Turns on but still not detecting any devices; PC, Phone or Handsfree in Car; tried all recommendations on this forum SMS Time Stamp issue After 24 hours I began having 3G signal issues; not able to hold 3G signal at all even after forcing WCDMA which used to work (*#*#4636#*#*) Flashed ERE36B but still having same 3G problems; checked on line for any known 3G issues with TMO USA in Southern California but did not find any. Plus I had my MT3G right next to me the whole time and it held 3G; albeit just one bar. Market - I'm experiencing same problem of not being able to view certain apps, ShopSavvy, etc... WIFI Tether did not work; but I will re-try with new 1.2 version. What Works!: MMS - Pixelated images but at least I can send now. Microsoft Exchange - Awesome! WIFI Pinch to Zoom in all apps, Maps, Browser, Gallery, etc... Alarm Clock Market - Most everything else. This has been a great ROM so far, especially when you consider this is an Alpha build. For now, I'm going to revert back to Alpha8 cause more of the simple stuff appears to work for me; ie Voice search worked; some bookmarks showed, MMS worked etc. The builds after Alpha8 appear to be faster and the ROM gives me less FC's but I prefer the functionality in Alpha8 which I believe is less optimized. Thanks all for all the feedback and discussions.

Just to test this I went back to cyanogen mod, without wiping and I couldn't see the apps still. So, I've now just don't a factory wipe and tried installing cyanogen again (I could see the apps originally), the apps appeared. So I suspect there's something within the marketplace app that's blocking it. I've got no idea what though. I'll do some research into this while you're on hols. Enjoy yourself Paul!

Guest djnutz Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 I can't seen to replicate almost all of these errors. I'm on alpha 10 and have working flash (adobe), no sms issues, no apps issues, no blue tooth issues and my voice to text and search work perfectly. Been using all of rose features each day. Maybe I just got lucky...
