Guest inf Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 hello great news for trackball notification i was waiting for it! nevertheless, i didn't find the right post which explain how to configure it can you repost the link? thanks There are no settings to configure trackball colors. Although in some programs you can configure the color of the led, like in Handcent SMS. Other (like GMail etc) are preconfigured to show the colors you see.
Guest duderuud Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 The Legend is on the market now in Holland. Desire will folow soon. Paul, do you have an approx. ETA on the official dump from the Desire (or legend)?
Guest anthdroid Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 It keeps me up at night now (that and the flashing green mail notification) Ya, this is certainly weird to wake up to! Paul mentioned he'd be able to add LED behavior (more like the Desire ROM before they engineered trackball notifications into that puppy <_< ) back into the Kitchen.
Guest Daswolven Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Ran A14 for a couple days, thank you for the work you do! I did revert back to CM though because my GPS was not functioning. I haven't seen this mentioned in the forum as of yet, unless I missed it. I use the Navigate feature daily and constantly, so this was a deal breaker for me. I did LOVE the flash support though. I will anxiously await a beta or final ROM, and give it another go.

GPS is working. What kind of problems where you having with it specifically? EDIT - I see you're also in the States. If you're having issues with street names and such coming up as 'Unknown' or no sexy voice in the turn-by-turn direction navigation, this is a known issue. Uninstall Google Maps and reinstall it from the Market. Prob-LEM Sol-VED <_< Edited March 11, 2010 by PhonePersona

Guest Daswolven Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I also had the issue with the GPS which was unable to locate until I've updated the radio. You should try. I actually have "cooked" the ROM with the updated radio and without and run both. I have been unsuccessful in getting GPS functionality with either. I'm wondering if this is just me, or if others have had success with the new radio version. May try it again this weekend.

Uninstall Google Maps and reinstall it from the Market. Prob-LEM Sol-VED <_< I couldn't get a GPS fix from maps, so I ran the GPS compass app I use and it was unable to lock as well. Granted I only let it try for a few minutes, but if takes more than that it's not functional for me. So I suppose the question now becomes whether or not the new radio is GPS capable state side? I know that seems like a silly question, but I am only "power user" level, and some of the more technical aspects are beyond my understanding. I would love to find a solution as I really enjoyed the time I spent with it, even above CM if that is possible.

Guest hueyfreeman Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 could the possible reason of not having the backlight be that i am not a subscriber so i didnt "bake my rom" and downloaded the file from the first post?

I've seen somewhere in this post that there was an issue with the radio flashing through the cooked rom and that you have to flash it separately. You can take it from this post : http://android.modaco.com/content/google-n...eaked-repacked/
Guest hks18psigst Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Because i'm a bit reckless (<_<), I just tried to do the thing I told you all NOT to do about 110 (guess) pages back... flashing the Bravo hboot on the Nexus One. The outcome? It appeared to flash OK, but when I went into bootloader, it hadn't updated. I also get a signature failure trying to flash via fastboot. Hmmm... at least I still have a working device I guess! P Brave/Lucky.. gladly nothing went wrong :(

Guest karnovaran Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Hey folks. Just flashed A14 and it's working like a champ. Setup Google account and that synced fine. Added Facebook and this thing has been syncing for HOURS. None of my contacts have changed and I can't link contacts (HTC/Desire contacts) to anything Facebook related. A12 seemed to work fine but I don't think it's a build thing. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a better way to set these accounts up (order)? Other than that, this thing is pimp! UPDATE: Removed Facebook account and re-added. Working <_< So, did you just go to accounts & sync --> facebook for sense --> remove account and then go back and add the account? I've tried this several times with no success.
Guest Stuart Jameson Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Does anyone know why 3G does not work on this ROM? Or is that a feature that will be coming later. I am just curious.

You can take it from this post : http://android.modaco.com/content/google-n...eaked-repacked/ Update: This worked. Fantastic and THANK YOU! I flashed the radio update separately, then re-flashed the cooked ROM, and I'm hitting every satellite available with no trouble. For what it's worth my 3G and HPSA are also working fine. I saw others had reported issues, I'm having none. Once the flash is properly synced with the camera and the video quality is corrected I will probably make this my permanent ROM. Thanks for all the input peoples, 'tis greatly appreciated.

Guest Stuart Jameson Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I don't even have an option to get to 3G. The phone runs on Tmobile, and had 3G before I rooted it. Any clue how to resolve this. It stays on the Edge Network no matter where I am. Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Thanks for your assistance in advance.if you go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Mobile Networks->Network Mode, does it say GSM only? if so, change it to GSM / WCDMA auto to see if you can get the 3G or H icon.
Guest Stuart Jameson Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I will give that a shot and see. I noticed a lot of network instability when I had that enabled before. I will message you back a little later on, as I don't have 3G coverage where I work. Thanks for the help.
Guest carl0s Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I think i found a bug: If i put the HTC Calendar widget(the little one) to the Homescreen, it's alwalys LOADING. It is mean always say this message. It's really annoying. Yes I see the same, even from alpha 11. It's only when you have it set to the small widget. I wonder does the alpha number refer to the HTC sense, or does it refer to modaco release? I.e. is HTC sense updated in every new modaco alpha release, or might it iust be kernel, services, etc, and no changes to HTC sense?
Guest bobchadwick Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Is anyone else having problems with gmail.com not resizing properly? I frequently check my work Gmail account using the web interface and the formatting is always way wider than the screen. I've never seen this on other ROMs.
Guest LilRedzMD Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Paul, Any word on when a new update and change log will be provided?

They are all, as far as I understand, all based on the same pre production leaked HTC desire ROM. Each version of the alpha modaco ROM is tweaking that release further to make it better operate on the desire and work through the issues found. I would not expect this to come out of alpha, until it either stabilises, or more than likely when the full release ROM becomes available for tweaking.
