Guest odeveca25 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 I got my new Verizon Omnia 2 i920 just last monday but I noticed that yesterday when I put it in my pocket for some reason it got really hot, but it was still working. I went to the mall with my wife today and put it in my coat pocket again and it got hot again, but the phone turned off by itself. I charged my phone today before going to the mall and I didnt use it much but somehow it was heating up in my coat pocket. When I got home it was off then I tried to charge it and it wouldnt charge or turn on. could it be a battery issue or a phone issue???? I did flash my rom to Yardi build 23534 and it was working fine yesterday when i flashed it.

If you are able to connect to Octans I would try flashing back to the stock rom and see if it does the same thing. If so, then take it back to Verizon and swap it out. If not then it was the rom but I doubt it was the rom as I have flashed all of yardi's roms and I have had no issue like the one you are experiencing.

I was able to get the phone to turn on again after a google search, It appears that a few people have had issues with omnia 1 and omnia 2 overheating. The phone was hot when I took it out of my pocket. So i decided to put the battery in the fridge for about 4 minutes and took it out and put it back in the phone and it turned on and now it works. But im still going to flash back to the stock rom; taking it to verizon tomorrow to swap for another one. cuz it has been heating up everytime i put it in my coat or pants pocket.
