SMS issue :

You are right when you say that we flash our phone to often to have a lot a sms stored. I would like to fix this but to fix this i must be in the same condition as you are, so i must have a lot of sms.

First of all in must say that i know that sms is a private part of our life and that it must be kept private. So it will. My goal is not to read them

So to be able to identify the point of failure in sms work, i need someone to send me a sms restore tool and a lot of backed up sms. I know you have no reason to trust me more than anyone else but that is the only way we will be able to work on it. For privacy reason, I won't share these SMS with noone (including Team member, even if i trust them)

I you decide to send me your databases, do it by Personnal Message or better by mail, not on the forum.

Regards Malez

I'm trusting you that much that I would even give you my bancomat with a post-it on telling you what my PIN is, but I don't have all those SMSs :)

I just have 20-30 SMSs and the app is really fast, so I pass on.

i send 30/50 sms per day and i have the same issue. I ve to delete all my messages every 2or 3 days to be sure to be able to read rapidly new messages. It s really the biggest and annoying bug that remain. I have no restore backup so it is not a sqlite data base desindexed as someone says in a previous message nor mms.apk because i try with one of a previous rom that has not the issue and it didnt change anything. I think that developper flash their phone too often to have a lot of messages :-)

I don t want to go back to donut, and eclair version that didn t bug are too old and buggy on other point.

Please developpers make an effort, on french forum lot of people are sad about this point. A cell phone is to communicate you have improved other functions to their high, please can you apply your magic on sms issue ?

There's a temp solution to your problem..

Try setting a "Text message limit"

go "menu" under message -> "Setting" -> "Text message Limit" Under Storage Settings..

This will automatically delete your old sms..

i got the same problem...restore 17000+ sms with sms backup&restore, painful laggy...

though, still a gr8 rom, thank you all, lcr team

17000 * 80 chars = 1.360.000 chars = a book of +/- 600 pages :)

@Malez : please please just don't break something else in your rom to solve the problem of braineo - nothing personal, but I consider that this is a totally abnormal usage and SMS database - we speak about sqlite, not Oracle 11g ;)

17000 SMS, for each sms, look in database to find matching contact (to display name instead of number). Let say we have 250 contacts

17000 * 250 => 4 250 000 matching pattern to test (if match with the latest contact). Even with an index it is heavy.

The case is extreme but user with moderated sms usage also say that sms is lower under eclair than donut, so that must be studied.

I still want to analyse this. Any help or sms database would be welcome. (Of course i won't break anything else in the rom)

Keep on writing your feeling with LCR 1.6.

We appreciate to receive comments when we release a new rom.

I am running the latest LCR 1.6 and I am extremely happy of it

I have however a recurring "issue" since I left Donut for Eclair : despite sound hacks, the sound is almost inaudible until the volume control reaches 2/3 of the available scale (eg: 5/7 for alerts, 10 or 11/15 for media,...).

Is there a way to correct this? I mean to make volume increase/decrease much smoother, so that the whole scale of the control is useful instead of the last 2 - 3 increments? In other words, I would like that if the cursor on the media, ringtone, system,... volume control is positioned half its way, this really represents 50% of the maximum volume, and not just 10 or 20 % like now.

Or maybe am I the only one to encounter such unlinear volume scale due to a hardware issue?

Thanks is advance for your help and advice

same "issue" here. Since I flashed 2.1 and LCR1.6, the volume scale is as unlinear as Redline66 describes it.

The sound is much better with the audio hack but a more linear volume scale would be desirable.

Despite that "issue", I'm very happy with LCR1.6, too. Much better than stockrom.

Thx for the great work LCR-Team.

OK, I've used LCR 1.6 for a day now, and I'm encountering a problem:

-Gmail app is set to synchronize messages of the last 30 days, but it doesn't, it seems to download all messages anew when the phone is restarted

-I just got a message my sms memory is fuil, though I have deleted all sms, so there's just 1 sent sms in the memory

-I have a notification saying phone storage memory is almost full (in Dutch, don't know the text in English).

I didn't have any of this on stock 1.100.05... Help!

OK, so I found out this had to do with Cache memory being almost full. I deleted Raging Thunder Lite and then things went better. However, now I check available cache memory again (in SpareParts) and it's almost full again... is this normal?

Is there an easy way of applying apps2sd if I want to keep the data on my SD?

some more comments on LCR:

-why is NavLauncher included? Maps (or Maps by Brut.all) has a similar feature included since 4.2.0

-when I delete an app via settings/apps/manage apps, and I return to the apps list, it keeps loading forever. I have to go back and enter the list again for it to work.

Same issue here, but already existing in LCR 1.4 and 1.5. Not a blocking issue however, that's the reason why I didn't report it before.

Hi LCR Team!

Thanks for the ROM you made, really appreciate its fastness!

A quiestion: how do I keep Sipdroid from getting killed whenever screen goes off?

OK, I thought I figured out the killing issue, I added Sipdroid to the ignore list of ESFileManager. However, with the widget installed, it's stil killed even though it's on the ignore list... strange?

Google Earth can cap my location just fine... (both Wifi Location & Satellite GPS is on for me)

Quick question here, for some reason or other I'm now receiving SMSs from a "50" (yes, that's the name) with MY current location data attached. To my knowledge I have subscribed to no such service. However, I have Google Earth and the Snaptic Compass installed, and I have never touched or removed Google Maps or the Nav App.

If anyone has a similar problem please tell me how to turn that off. I don't really mind except that I'm getting my inbox spammed. :)

LCR 1.6 ROM x100.05 - this never happened with previous builds or ROMs.

goto settings -> Call Settings-> cell broadcast service -> untick the first entry (SMS cell broadcast)

50 is the channel for the current city name, it's a service much older than gps ;)

Ah, thanks. And I learnt something new today! :)

BTW, it's under Call Settings, not Wireless.
