Guest natostanco Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 i think not, i just run once again what need in background, that are juicedefender and setcpu profiles...
Guest gllandalf Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 imho task killers are just useless i don't understand why people always want to have a lot of mem free it was a good thing to kill some tasks with some early beta roms not optimized, when many process = slow system now whe should let android manage memory and preload some apps to gain speed!! the problem of battery drain is not due to low memory, but because of some processes like acer ui related ones (i think)

No, wait, I've changed my mind. +1000. Task killers are useless with well designed ROMs. LCR is a well designed ROMs, it doesn't have mem leaks or useless processes in background. Disabled every Task Killer, disabled (and removed apks) Acer UI and battery life is back to a more reasonable state.
Guest calle_d Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Hi Malez! Sorry to ask you like this, I know you have much to do. I just wonder if it is possible to break out only the LCR 1.7 audio hack and apply on newer roms, like the forthcoming 1.100.49? And of course: Thank you for your outstanding work on LCR! You are one of a few persons that makes my Liquid fun to play with every day!
Guest demolition23 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) LCR team are the BEST!! Malez, for me 1.7 is the best rom so far. The only thing i found bad in this rom is the Stream notifications, that cause battery issue. Maybe it's better to pack the Stream UI in a side project of LCR roms. Many people doesn't find it useful. LCR 1.7 without acer UI is REALY FAST! Its only my opinion. Once again A BIG THANKS for your work! Cant even think the Liquid forum without LCR! It will be hard or even impossible to work on it until monday Edited June 24, 2010 by malez

Guest Vailo Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Okay, for no perticular reason my room freezes at boot every single time... I wonder why EDIT: Okay I have fired up Malez Recovery, wiped all (exept sd) and reintaller LCR. Things seem to be smooth so far, I will keep updated. EDIT2: Okay installed most of the apps I had before and all seems to run fine. It looks like ADW. Launcher is more stable than Launcher Pro. anyone experience any difference? PS: The speed of this ROM is enjoyable, thank you LCR-team! Edited June 24, 2010 by Vailo
Guest limas123 Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 Now that the Liquid Eclair Kernel has been released, is it possible to overclock the CPU?
Guest willyaranda Posted June 24, 2010 Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) I've deleted some Acer apps and now I'm seeing the dolby preferences but they are all greyed out, so i cant change anything, do you know if there is a problem by deleting them? EDIT: nevermind, reboot and working again Edited June 24, 2010 by willyaranda

Guest Riekr Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) WOW!!! I just uninstall notifications!! My liquid now is REALY fast!! i agreee, this makes a big difference in available ram too (so i'll stick to lcr1.7 ;) ). since my last post of yesterday i have 99Mb free ram, normal phone usage (seen in settings -> manage applications -> running services) imho task killers are just useless i don't understand why people always want to have a lot of mem free it was a good thing to kill some tasks with some early beta roms not optimized, when many process = slow system now whe should let android manage memory and preload some apps to gain speed!! the problem of battery drain is not due to low memory, but because of some processes like acer ui related ones (i think) i agree on the task manager part, regarding low memory i want to do some more considerations: usually in a device with a lot of memory (so for use liquid users i mean 512mb or more) you will have more applications running at the same time and possibly more cpu if some applications decide to awake for some reason. On the other side less memory means more applications startups and shutdown wich is also a cpu over head. I don't think, or simply don't have enough informations to say that, there is a solution, generally less applications running means lower memory usage wich in turns means virtually lower cpu and battery drainage. Finally, to put the last bit of chaos in this mine tought, task killer itself is an application wich run every X time so it consumes power periodically. Since android seems to have a good memory manager/task killer optimizing it seems to be better than a task killer and having a properly configure low mem killer in a rom is really a good thing :( Edited June 25, 2010 by Riekr

Guest m3allak Posted June 25, 2010 Report Posted June 25, 2010 How do you delete APKs with Titanium Backup? Localise your apk in titanium list (you can do it by filtering results from menu), then click on it and uninstall
