Guest petoulachi Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Good So aosp dialer ? I'm trying it too, don't know which one I will keep. AOSP seems pretty fast though.
Guest malez Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) malez, pls say how to extract dolby mobile from this firmware? but my liquid works very slow on LCR. i want this feature separately. LCR with full android UI is not slow (with stream UI it is). After applying the patch. If you set [FULL_ANDROID_UI|1| you will see that it is fast Edited July 1, 2010 by malez
Guest Ultimate Chicken Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Does patching require a full wipe? I just got everything back up (save for my Media Scanner/Media Store issue) and I'm not that willing to wipe again until the end of this week.
Guest inf k Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 LCR with full android UI is not slow (with stream UI it is). With patch it is faster. Dolby is included in the rom. can i just use this particular feature with my native firmware?

Guest Liquidini Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 although 1.7 is a bit laggy with my phone i find battery usage extremely well. in stby the phone use about 0.5percent per hour. even lower sometimes. for example today after full charge the battery was at 100% for 1.5 hour.maybe something is wrong but thats the numbers i am getting.i use battery widget to show me the battery percent also i unistalled all the acer ui files(i think) and the phone became faster.ram is usually around 53 mb with 3g watchdog, battery indicator, htc ime and gtalk service.i think its kind of low. thanks malez for all the work.

WIth patch p1 you wil have more free ram left too. (about +20 Mo) Don't remove Stream part by hand, there are now managed by the system. They are fully disabled when not used.
Guest bais Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Malez I noticed that when I theme the Phone or Contact apk, before or after changing LCR UI.txt, they disappear, is it normal? So there's no way to theme the AOSP Dialer?
Guest malez Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Malez I noticed that when I theme the Phone or Contact apk, before or after changing LCR UI.txt, they disappear, is it normal? So there's no way to theme the AOSP Dialer? If you want to theme it, you have to modify /system/app/Contacts.apk. I don"t really undestand what you are explaining. After a change in LCR_UI some files are disabled on other are enabled. Contact.apk always stay in system/app. Phone.apk is disabled when using Stream Dialer and is moved to /system/bak in this case So just provide 2 files /system/app/Phone.apk and /system/app/Phone.apk (one of the two will be automatically deleted on reboot depending if it must be enabled or diabled) Edited July 1, 2010 by malez
Guest bais Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 I themed Contacts.apk and Phone.apk, they worked fine with Acer Contacts app (though only icons were themed, since the theme is for classic Eclair dialer). Then I changed LCR_UI.txt to enable AOSP Dialer app, and my Phone and Contacts apps just disappeared even though I was prompted to enter PIN Code when my phone booted. When I don't theme them, the Contacts app changes fine from Acer to AOSP. I don't understand at all what happened xD.
Guest khamees79 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 For exemple when I load http://6arab.com, everything is well displayed. What URL are you trying to load ? Be sure you have NOT applied the asian language patch EDIT : I asked an arabic speaking personn and effectively caraters are displayed in an incorrect way (they are not connected each others). I have made some research about this and it looks like it is also require to change libs. So big big work. Thanks buddy, I really appreciate your effort, and can live without reading Arabi  I'm going to apply the patch now

Just check this, just in case. try this adb shell mv /system/bak/* /system/app/ then push your theme
Guest bais Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) It may sound stupid but when it asks me if I want to overwrite, no button reacts, so can't put yes... EDIT: well I'll just do it with ES file explorer... Edited July 1, 2010 by bais
Guest alcap Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) Hey, my camera and camecorder apps keep forceclosing... I thought it would be fixed on 1.7 patch 1, but it's exactly the same! Any ideas? Thanks;) EDIT: I should mention I'm using the 880Mhz kernel (not clocked, I just needed the wifi tethering) by phhuson Edited July 1, 2010 by alcap
Guest ev0 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Yay! Nice nice work guys! Upgraded from 1.6 to 1.7 and directly to 1.7.1 (I flashed both, first 1.7, then 1.7.1, in a row without a restart). Until now, it works without any glitches :D Will try one of the phh-kernels now  @alcap: Did you "odex" your apks? If so, maybe reodex them again... (if a different version of the apk is now in place it may cause FCs (as far as I understand some apks are switched when you change from Acer Stream UI to Android UI and vice versa, not sure though))
Guest demolition23 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 malez waiting for 1.7.1 for a clean flash.. I realy messed up cleaning apps from rom from 1.7.
Guest jlmb22 Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 First of all thanks for this rom, it is really fast. I run it since for 1 week and I found an issue: Each time I reboot my phone, the internal memory decrease (around 2 or 3 mB). Has somebody a clue for where does it come. Whatever, very good job for this rom.
Guest bais Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Well that didn't work. Here's the summary: -Before Theming, Acer and AOSP Contact and Phone apps work. -After Theming, Acer Contact and Phone apps work, AOSP ones don't. When they disappeared I changed LCR_UI to disable this config must be applied and the apps reappeared.

After killing it, camera and camecorder are working now.
Guest malez Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 I had the same issue. In my case, I've found that Fring was in cause. After killing it, camera and camecorder are working now. I also added a script called fixcamera.sh in the gscript. you can try to run it. Gscript / Load file / fixcamera.sh / Run

After I delete all, I restore the space I had loosed and my phone seems to work normally.
Guest revster Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Hi malez and people from LCR! Loving your ROM so far! Only got one problem: can't add a new contact. " The process android.process.acore has stoped unexpectedly " ... ( Already flashed the patch anyway )
Guest zengyu Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) after Flash 1.7.1,the setting of launcherpro can't be saved.it returned to default after reboot. Edited July 2, 2010 by zengyu
