However, the phone was purchased in China and the firmware on the phone is in Chinese.. Is there a way to change the firmware to Singapore version? I went to Samsung Service Centre in Singapore and was told that they cannot change the firmware.. Regards, Nat

Read instruction on the first post and the pinned topic Guide to Flashing ROM on i8000 if you are new. Remember to select the csc which was operator free "I8000XEUJB1". I was using it and it worked great for me.
