Old emails automatically disappear after Send and Receive

have you experienced this one? I got my email setup for GMail, and everytime I download my emails, the old emails disappear. I can't say they were deleted because i don't find them in Deleted Items, they're just gone. or maybe they are place somewhere else and i don't have any idea why it's behaving that way. Is that normal? Can we set it up so it won't delete my old emails when I launch Send and Receive?

...you have an option, download the past... you can set all and you will have all emails on even after send/receive

The other possiblity is that you download mails from the server on your PC yet. When mails are deleted from the server during this action, next time when you will try to synchronize your phone, all old messege will be deleted.
