Guest Uncle Mui Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Anyone did a comparison as to which web browser is 'better'? Thanks.
Guest maxw3l Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 The latest Opera 10 beta 3 is absolutely BRILLIANT. I would say it is as fast as Safari on the iPhone 3GS, renders better, and has flash-lite support. It is also highly optimised for finger usage You need to enable plugins to get flash working, and it is a tad laggy for video on battery power, but it works! Skyfire is poor by comparison. I have also tried the Fennec alpha and it is terrible. The only problems I have had with Opera are: - the high memory usage. You should ensure you have at least 35-40MB free before launching. - it isn't always obvious when you have clicked on a link (no indicator for a few seconds) Definitely the best Windows Mobile browser.
Guest r3ap3r Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 install and test it's a best comparison :(
Guest babyjosef17 Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 For me a simply comparison is which browser that I have installed I use the most. and right now, It's Opera 10 beta 3 I just love how smooth the scrolling is and how it loads pages faster. It is still a pain to load image heavy pages such as allkpop.com, but for other websites, it's very fast. One thing I would like to know though, is there any way to configure the browser to stop auto loading the mobile versions of website. Because some site auto load their mobile versions, without any option from their site to revert back to the desktop version. The problem for opera 10, one the mobile version has been auto loaded for that site, every visit to that site afterwards will now go directly to the mobile version. I checked the Opera:config and I can't seem to find the settings. I remeber for previous opera you can actually set the browser to be recognized as either "Mobile" or "Desktop"

I haven't checked though but I cannot see what else it would do.

Guest babyjosef17 Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 Just wanted to share. This solved my issue. http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=421831
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 babyjosef thankyou so much ...u solved my opera headache too! also did u find anything else to improve or tweak opera 10 for our O2?
Guest jacobgong Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Opera 10 is great, except flash functionality is basically useless since it's impossible to play any flash video or game without significant lags while draining your battery very quickly.
Guest babyjosef17 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 @FerdiBorbon So far that is the only thing I have search for with regards to Opera Mobile 10 beta 3. But next on my list would be to see the Windows Taskbar while using the browser. will let you know if I find one. I'm glad I was able to help you.
Guest Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Can it be installed over the preinstalled Opera? Because when I try to install to the main memory it says "Unsucessful installation", so I have to install it in the storage mem. and then I get 2 Operas in my device. Where did you installed it?
Guest fs61 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 From my point of view Skyfire is a little bit faster than Opera...
