I've read bigbear saying that it's quite hard to do, since there are checksums in the file. Don't know what exactly is required to get checksums matched again.

Exactly.

I don't know either how to regenerate them...

/off

BTW anyone that wants to test this?

As usual : Make a NAND Backup etc. etc. bla bla bla...

Sidenote: don't even download it if you don't know how to flash a raw boot image...

Edit: don't expect it to be working at all, I'm just interested in if this shows the "Android" logo or directly reboots after the T-Mobile screen. Let me know

Everyone who needs to ask shouldn't download that

It's the compiled .32 kernel.

Haha, i'm at work and didn't look at the link. But yeah, I shouldn't download it =P

EDIT: Second thought, I know how to compile kernel with a ramdisk =P I'm just @ windows right now

But this is great news, hope it works!

Hmm have you putted drivers from old 27 kernel to new 32 ?

Not yet.

That's why the zImage is only 644kBytes large; all the drivers are missing =/

i`m porting drivers, there is a lot of huawei drivers, such u8220backlight.c and so on,,,

Yap, they nearly messed up everything

Do you want to join our FroYo porting project?

Porting drivers will be a big part of it!

If you want to, just have a look at our repo (in my signature :D)

What is strange, according to 2.1 rom's kernel config (/proc/config.gz), they changed some drivers from 8220xxx to huaweixxx. Maybe, they have universal battery, keyboard etc. divers?

Hmm, well I've tried to put it as straight down as possible. I'll go get a spirit-level to see if my floor is perhaps tilting a bit :(

Edit: Well it seems it doesn't matter at wich angle I put it down, I tried to put it down with something under the left side of the phone. The left edge of the phone is now about 1 cm higher up than the right side. Still though while laying it down, it goes into landscap-mode

Edit 2: Haven't given much thought to this before, since it thought it was a bug that everyone had with 2.1. But it seems it only does this if I don't hold it in my hand, if I hold my hand so that the phone is on it's back pretty straight, it doesn't change into landscape-mode.

And the same issue happens to me with 2.1 :D

it's weird

It's "good" to know that someone more than me has that problem, hopefully it means my device (and yours) isn't broken :D. Wich rom are you using?
