help. connecting usb turns off pc :S

wondered if anyone had the same problem.

somestimes ill connect my ubs from o2 to pc to transfer files, as soon as the usb comes into contact with the pc the whole pc turns off, it dosent short anything or affect anything in the house, just the pc turns off. when i boot it says windows shut down unexpectadly and asks if i want to boot as normal, im using windows 7. 32bit.

sounds like you might have a problem with the actual usb port for one, open your case and check the connections. Before you do that though, do you happen to be using a random usb cable? i have found that some usb cables are not wired /compatible with our phone. i went through 3 before i found the right one. if it is not working, do not use it, you can short out the usb port on both your pc and device.

I suggest you go to boxwave or another vendor and get a cable that states it is compatible with your device.

Too late haha yesterday it shorted the pcs powersupply and motherboard. so now theres no pc <_< funny thing is it didnt earth because no switched were tripped.
