I have tried both Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 x64 it did not work on both. I followed all those instructions but still no luck.

for windows 7 x64, I followed all the instruction, I made sure it was the correct driver, but when I connect my phone OCTANS gives a series of errors and does not detect my phone.

Service stopped successfully

[setup] Windows 7

[setup] Download Ram Size :41777920 bytes,(39 MB)

Service is already stopped. So I will NOT Re-start the service...

OnDeviceChange \\?\USB#VID_04E8&PID_6619#5&e6f0943&0&4#{25dbce51-6c8f-4a72-8a6d-b54c2b4fc835}

[Error:0] Not receive OKUD! TimeOut:2

[Error:0] Not receive OKUD! TimeOut:1

[Error:0] Not receive OKUD! TimeOut:0

When I tried it on Windows XP SP3, OCTANS does not show anything, it's just the system saying it needs a driver for i8000 or something. I'm guessing there is something else required which is not listed in the instructions. I'm sorry I've been using Vista since its Beta and don't have the routine to install drivers for everything, it has always been automatic.

for windows 7 x64 I followed this to the letter. except mine does not show Compatibility options in properties and you have to troubleshoot it to change this setting but I did change it to windows XP SP3 anyway.

I have got it to work on Windows XP, however It's a netbook and I would still prefer to do it on my laptop or desktop and they both run Windows 7 X64 edition.

and I just found that my netbook's screen isn't tall enough for the OCTANS downloader, so I can't see the 2 buttons on the bottom, and I don't think it would be wise to attempt to choose them blindly via Tab button.

I dint want to start a new thread but is there a reason octans won't detect my omnia 2 verizon phone. Ii have tried it with win 7 and xp.whenever I install the driversand it says it installs correctly but windows says it did not install correctly.I've tried using 2 different win 7 computers.Do I have to write a csc file at the same time I do the nbo file?

right click octans icon on your desktop of pc and go to compatibilty options click the xp option Oh there more...

Did you install usb drivers as need for your win7 32 or 64 oh and more

I only do pda plus you need to click on a few of the ck boxs in octans...

There are a few guide on the i920 page .

PS adding the drivers sucks but it can be done.

:) ;)

I did not see specific drivers for different windows versions I thought it only worked on xp but I did set to xp compatibility mode and I tried it on a xp computer too and got the same thing I was using octans mini.Ii think the problem might be in samsung drivers and windows not agreeing with each other I always see windows auto hardware install thing fighting with the instal drivers that came with the hardware.Ii heard windows active sync thing dosent work with 7. is there any tricks I can try to make windows recognize the samsung drivers, should I have my data connectiion on my phone set to mass storage or active sync?

Several places say DO NOT use the MINI for our type of flashing use full Octans :) ;)

Ok, I finally got the driver to install on a different computer(win 7) where active sync will also connect.

So then I tried flashing and I go to detect and then plug into the turned off phone and I just get the on device change thing.

I clicked the log and it gave me this: [Error:0] USB no ack. Check ActiveSync. TimeOut:-1

I guess im using the right usb port, this is on a laptop and I tried all of them.

Everytime I connect my omnia without it turned on it will only connect for about 5 seconds then dissconnect, would this have anything to do with it?

Im using the Deskalos Megalite ROM which I think will work for verizon omnias? I have checked the skip booting and automatically start downloading checkboxes.

When i connect the turned off phone it will make the windows connection noise and show the Omnia startup screen then about 5 seconds later it goes to the battery charging screen and windows does the disconnect noise. Whenever I try reconnecting it a certain amount of times the phone automatically starts itself but octans still does nothing.

Thanks for the help
