Guest 206bw Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) I've noticed two very annoying issue with my Omnia2 GPS with Garmin MXT 1) After getting a lock, GPS signal will sudden drop to zero from full bar, and takes about 10-30 seconds to relock. This happens once every 3-5 ish minutes. 2) sometimes my GPS is very off. for example, I've already crossed a certain point, but the display still shows I havn't crossed it yet. Sometimes it will jump to the correct location, and the cycle begins again. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? possible fix? PDA and CSC: JB1 Phone: IJ6 (stock file from Bell) Additional info - clear sunny day - no tall buildings around (2 to 3 stories tall) - Baud rate 9600 Edited March 4, 2010 by 206bw

My GPS shows sometimes that I drive on a sidewalk and then suddenly jumps to actual road :(

When I am supposed to make a turn on the up coming street, by the time i passed that street, GPS says I havn't got there yet. Sometimes its very accurate, other times.. not so much I went for a driver with my Omnia2 Garmin MXT and Garmin Nuvi (standalone gps unit). The Nuvi was able to get locks wayyy faster, takes 1 second to recalculate route if I miss a turn, and able to speak street names. where as the Omnia2 takes 3 - 10 seconds to recalculate and can't speak the street names. Nuvi has better GPS reciever chip I think. Street names...isn't true that MXT "speaks" what it has in it's special Garmin/voice folder? Satellite locking is slow, but nothing serious. I can wait some 30+ seconds. You can try GPSModDriver: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=571266 but read a little, there are some things to remember and change in phone's settings (different COM port etc.). It works in my phone with program port COM2, hardware port COM9, baud rate 57600, "Manage GPS automatically" Edited March 4, 2010 by AndyCarroll

It works in my phone with program port COM2, hardware port COM9, baud rate 57600, "Manage GPS automatically" the Nuvi says "turn (direction) to (street name) in (distance)". After the turn, it will say continue along (street name) for (distance) the MXT only says turn (direction) in (distance) that is a problem because of the inaccurancy and constant signal drop, i often already missed the turn before garmin tells me to turn. Also, i was never able to get traffic infomation even if i select connect to garmin online. it always return as no events found even if there is heavy traffic or accdients Edited March 5, 2010 by 206bw
