Guest TIEfighter Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) there is a new opera mini 5 beta - no java. very fast - faster than opera mobile 10 beta. WOW that's indeed fast! It's great that it´s not just a "normal" Java app anymore, that seems to have improved the performance immensely compared to the previous beta. It seems even faster than skyfire, although of course, it doesn´t have skyfires audio/video capabilities. Overall pretty awesome, allows reaaally fast browsing. However, given the fact that Opera Mini (like skyfire) has to use Opera´s Proxy servers for compression etc. and therefore is not entirely save for anything involving passwords, banking accounts etc., you have to have another Browser (Opera Mobile, e.g.) which renders sites on the device itself. It would be great if they could integrate Opera Mini´s browsing speed into Opera Mobile. Theoretically, the "Turbo" function should do that, but in reality, it doesn´t :( update: anyway, to download, just use "m.opera.com/next" with your phone´s browser. Guest y17dt Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Loading speed is about as fast as skyfire but the scrolling speed is brilliant in Opera Mini. Not all pages are shown perfect but it s ok. I´ll give it a try.
Guest wurzelsepp Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 opera mini is perpect for browsing over a slow connection even on EDGE it's still very fast! Start up time is extremly fast (under 1 sec) so the perfect browser for "googleling" something fast on the go
Guest FerdiBorbon Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 very very quick, feels like 10x faster than opera10 ... too bad it doesnt doesnt have a smooth scroll like opera 10, but other than that its so quick who cares, big improvement over the previous mini, very happy, it can only get better from here, big thumbs up for the opera team <_<
Guest mladban Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 OK for Google BUZZ tipe www.google.com/profiles/xxxxxx#buzz xxxxxx is your user name for google mail
Guest contable Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 It´s working really fast. In my opinion the better choice than Opera 10 beta 3... The only reason for staying with Skyfire is the full flash support.
