Guest thehitmen Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 Just press for around 3 secs on an area where you input text eg sms. It will come up with a dialog screen, choose input method and choose swype. See the wiki page under "Changing between Android and TouchPal on-screen keyboards" http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Huawei_U8...creen_keyboards Worked thanks <_<
Guest Azurren Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 I've tried uninstalling, redownloading and installing several times.. I guess I have to give-up No success on my untouched December pulse <_<
Guest twrock Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) Working on my CHT 8000, after installation of the latest version. So far, I like it a lot. I can imagine this will be quite a bit faster than tapping, particularly after I get used to it. Word recognition is quite amazing, even with inaccurate sliding on my part. Guest meinnit Posted March 9, 2010 Report Posted March 9, 2010 I tried Swype for a few days but I really didn't get on with it. I much prefer Shapewriter for the following reasons: - Very easy to correct mistakes made by words generated using swipe. I just found correcting mistakes using Swype very tedious. - Swype is very laggy. I'll do a test later to see how much CPU its actually using (this probably has an effect on battery life too) One + point about Swype is that the keyboard itself for manual entry is very good. If only Shapewriter was as good, then it would be perfect!
Guest biron_w Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks to the OP for pointing this out. I've started to use swype properly now and it really is very good indeed <_<
Guest giabbe1 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 This app is amazing: I still haven't found a word in which it fails to guess, apart from names of people, etc (and it's only a beta version!!!). Really impressed!!!
Guest meinnit Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 This is interesting: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/24/t9-trac...-text-messages/
Guest robot1000 Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 This is interesting: http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/24/t9-trac...-text-messages/ Doesn't seem much different to me
Guest biron_w Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 I was enjoying this but now it's started to play up.And just completely random words in that aren't even proper words! It's still faster than typing however.
