WM6.1 ROM

My Omnia 2 came with WM6.5, but I am not happy with it. I feel that it is not much faster than my old HTC P3300! The GPS is unreliable and works randomly and I am considering buying a separate Garmin handheld GPS as I need a reliable GPS device. After trying different WM6.5 ROMs I got tired and am going to try WM6.1. I am not interested in the bells and whistles. I just need something that works. Aftet reading many posts on this site it appears that IG7 is the best WM6.1 ROM as far as battery life and stability go. Is this correct? Also, where can I get this ROM from? I am currently downloading it from a Russian site, but is goes so slowly that it will take ages to download.
