Is it possible for you to install it? I thought about cooking m2d a while back. The problem is I could not find a package and creating a package proved too difficult.

OK, let me tell you my experience/experiment with flashing (rodrigofd) i8000 Omnia II GSM ROM [ROM] LEO2-FUSION Beta 1/ HD2 feel in I8000, A powerful I8000 custom ROM HD2 Edition (Sense 2.5)

Link: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-omnia-...released-today/

on my Verizon Samsung SCH-i920 Omnia II CDMA device... Oops!!! <_< :( "I'm not condoning doing this in any way!!!"

Pros: Didn't brick my Brand New phone!!! :D, It actually was running a bit slow but (I could of lived with it if it wasn't for the Cons below...) I'M IN LOVE WITH THAT UI!!!

Cons: NO Phone Radio Service (The Biggest Cons), No Camera (The 2nd Biggest Cons), I couldn't find anything more than that really all though I didn't do much detailed checking for what worked and didn't work. BTW: The phone is not connected with any service provider.

I was wondering what controls the Service Radio and Camera and if I could load a file to make that work? BTW: I flashed it twice and got the same thing...

I sent WoZZeR999 a message and he was surprised I even got that far but, didn't seem like he wanted to comment on much about it (My guess he didn't want to feel responsible if something went wrong with my phone)

Hope this helps in anyway to get more people chief's to try cooking up something for us that are really liking this UI!!!

Any other questions or ideas about it just let me know... As I told WoZZeR999 I'm willing to experiment with a ROM based on this if the try and cook something up just let me know!!

Thanks!

you guys think it's a europe vs. US thing? With the HD2 coming out on Tmobile on the 23rd it's only a matter of time before they crack it open? And even though it's Tmobile maybe that might get us a little closer???? I'm just thinking out loud here? Anyone have any facts or figures?

You should definitely be able to get the radio working, unless you actually flash the radio portion of the phone (which I don't think many/any of the custom ROM's include). So, if you still have the same radio flash, it's likely just registry settings that need changed to get the radio operational. Also, did you try *228 to program after flashing? If this doesn't work, I would recommend doing a complete registry dump from a working ROM, and then picking through it compared to the HD2 ROM to look for likely causes.

As for the camera, who knows. Is it possible? Absolutely. Would it be easy? Not likely.

Ok, so I flashed the HD2 ROM back to my phone and heres a few more details on whats going on since I flashed it again.

Main Problem/Issues: Wireless Settings: On Airplane mode (Can't turn it off.) Bluetooth & Wifi do turn on. So I click on Phone, pop up Phone Settings: The phone is currently off. Would you like to turn on the phone? I click "YES" Nothing stays the same. "OFF" *228 Doesn't work.

When the phone goes to sleep (The cousin of BRICKED!?) <_< I have to take the battery out and put it back in for it to turn back on. Or plug the USB cable back in wakes it up also.

1. No sound (On Start Up, Shut down, Music player or anything else as far I see.

2. Update when starting the Camera (Can't click on any side Menu Setting, No Camera Image, pop up says "Info: Please update camera firmware"

3. At the end of the flashing process it says: Battery Malfunction (Only when USB cord is plugged in for the first time. After plugging it in again I haven't gotten that message again.)

4: I got into HTC Setting, Sound & Display and click on G-sensor and get a Error message stating: AccelerometerCalibrator.exe can not be opened. Not signed to a trusted certificate Blah, Blah one of the Components is missing.

If you would like me to try anything else let me know... You would have to walk me through Changing the settings with a Registry Editor Etc... Like I said if you have or can point my in the directions off the right files, .cabs, .csc, .eboots. etc... that you think might work let me know. for any chief that needs a tester... Can't wait till STORM starts cooking some VZW Omnia i920 ROMS.

Thanks!

Yeah, it'd have to be a custom job then. It should be possible though.

In addition to the GSM/CDMA difference, there are quite a few other changes to the verizon version of the phone. So, who knows. The time investment is probably not worth it, unless someone is just really bored and has a week to kill.
