Guest Sterneman Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 I have almost all of my music encoded as .ogg files. Most of them play correctly, but some of them do not: I get an "Unable to Play File" error. I've checked id3 tags, removed album art, re-tagged with a different tagger and cannot figure it out. Even my excellent Google-fu has been no match for this problem. I use Songbird as my primary player on my PC. I used Mp3Tag to re-tag the problem files. The files play fine on my PC in Songbird and VLC, and on my linux box in RhythmBox. For a while, I thought it might be related to a Songbird bug related to album art, but that proved to be false. I've included links two files from the same album. Track 01. Follow The Drinking Gourd.ogg will not play. Track 02. Mighty Day.ogg will. They are from the same CD, and were ripped during a single session. There are other cases when an entire album won't play. i8000 PDA:I8000NXXIJ9 CSC: I8000ATOIJ8 PHONE: I8000XXIG6 Help, please? Thanks! Gus

Guest Sterneman Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 try tcpmp to play the files... it seems to play much file types... Thanks for the suggestion, darkworldzz, but I'd rather figure out why there's an error - I'm a grad student and don't want to have to pay for CorePlayer. Gus
