something that gives readings in meters per second squared or Gs, something that makes more sense than plus minus 2048?

better still, having some vector functions, like subtracting one standard G from a certain axis or a direction. as well as a time graph with customizable time intervals.

and no, I don't need bubble levels or water levels, I need a quantity instead of an angle.

are you after something to build a sort of Gtech systeme? that would be very interesting .. personaly got one and if i oculd leave it out the car and use the phone t would be great, so imlooking for stuf to use to o that sort of Gforce usage. if i find anything i'll link it here <_<

edit found something interesting, only I8000 still under dev....

yeah, I am looking for software to use the accelerometer to calculate car acceleration as well. For one thing, I know that iphone has this software, and it is quite useable.

For PocketPC, there is gPC (which is the extreme apps link above). I know the i8000 version is under development, but I tested the i900 version which was supposed to be readily available and I can't get it to work. The program loads and then nothing else, it displayed the g-meter on my i900 and then doesn't respond to any other touch.

There is other programs that measures 0-100 using GPS, like GPS Performance, GPSDash, etc. I tried those and I don't think the accuracy is too good, as GPS data is not update that often and that accurate.

I just want an application like iphone where 0-100 is measured purely using the accelerometer, I haven't found one yet for pocketpc ... (although I suppose gPC is supposed to be the one? I can't get it to work.....)

I'm not really looking for a software for cars, I figure I'm better off writting one on my own. I mean it's so easy you just devide the G-sensor reading by a certain constant, and then triangulate the direction. Yet it seems people are not interested, instead they make lock screens and every other application we already have, as if it's simply not cool to use the stock applications.

sorry cant help on dev, i'm more a piston head than a programer. ... i use gtech stuff on the track and times are the closest i get to times on the time slip. the iphone app i tested wasn't as precise as the dedicated stuff.

I thought the iphone ones are ok in terms of accuracy, but I haven't used it myself. OK, on further searching over the net, I think the gPC app is supposed to be like the iphone app, which is able to calculate the speed and acceleration using the accelerometer inside. However, the app can only function fully licensed, otherwise you just see the first screen without the ability to do the config, which is useless, that's why I only see the first screen on my i900. The question is how can I pay for a software if I don't even see if it works properly? Also version for i8000 is still under development for over 6 mths now.....
