Help me understand some aspects of flashing

Hello ppl!

Sorry for the noob topic, but even reading a lot of posts regarding the subject, i`m not sure about some things. First, if i only flash PDA of a ROM, will i get it to work 100% correct? I mean, with all it`s benefits? My phone is now with NXXIJ6, CSC is ATOIJ6, never flashed, everything works fine, but the RAM is only around 40mb at max. What you guys recomend me to do? If i flash to a newer ROM, but only the PDA part, let`s take the secany`s JB1 for example, will my phone have more RAM?

PS: my phone version is i8000.

u have to flash the JB1's eboot to get 5 extra RAM which is not that much, u can flash ur phone with official ROMs couple of times just to get urself comfortable with flashing, then u can move on to custom ROMs which gives u a lot more than 40mb free RAM.

Oh one more thing, if a ROM is WM 6.5.X, should i do something diferent to flash it, since my ROM is 6.5

no, u dont have to do anything different.

How did you determine which is your firmware version?

I would like to apply the HTC H2 rom (it is only PDA part) but I don't know which other things i need.
