Guest lupus_hegemonia Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Unfortunatelly... it DOESN'T (working properly) in i900, as Omnia I doesn't supporting 3Ds...
Guest jebise Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Unfortunatelly... it DOESN'T (working properly) in i900, as Omnia I doesn't supporting 3Ds... yeah carousel works fine on my omnia 2. I use pointui with pointsence now and that works great too.
Guest meabigbaldguy Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 yeah carousel works fine on my omnia 2. I use pointui with pointsence now and that works great too. That's strange, because I'm not getting the same effect with the carousel on my O2. Did you have to enable the feature somewhere?

Guest mattandy Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 my carousel works fine but a can't get the sms sliding effect as in the video, please if someone knows haw to activate it i've already installed GinKage OpenGL ES v1but no way <_<
Guest jebise Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 no i didn't really do anything special. I remember it being laggy at some point, then after a bit of use it fixed itself. It could have been also CanKage openGL 0.26 that helped but i know i did a hard reset after i installed that and it still worked so i dunno
Guest arrowana Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Can someone please post a step by step instruction of how to get the carousel working in 3D for the i920 Omnia. Thank you.

Guest navin-shetty Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Found the solution here: You need to hack registry of SPB to enable Gsenser for carousel Change the values as bellow: HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\GIEnabled =1 HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\SelectorScene\ Gsensor = 1 Reflections =1 HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\GIEnabled =1 HKLM\\Software\Spb Software House 2\Spb Mobile Shell\GI\SelectorScene\ Gsensor = 1 Reflections =1 Hope this will help ya....

Thanks, N-S, for the info. Actually, it did not work for me with 3.5.0; however, I upgraded to 3.5.3 and it works well.

Guest meabigbaldguy Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Yes, it's work in 3D but when I tilt the phone nothing change (G-sensor?) After playing with this for a little while, the carousel does tilt but it's very laggy - and the battery life seems to go much sooner than before hand. To be honest, I find that this 3D carousel is really nothing exciting and doesn't really have a functional purpose.

Note that the video is from.... drum roll please... GINKAGE!!!! To get that sort of smooth 3D performance, you need to install Ginkage's accelerated OpenGL library, make the reg changes listed in this thread (it varies depending on which version of MS3 you've got -- 3.5.3 has 3D support for Omnia). The key here is the accelerated 3D lib, however!

Anyway, I've installed the CAB, and made the proper reg edits and my G Sensor works so much better now - especially with MS 3.5.3! One thing to note from the Chainfire post is that it mentions to set the CPU performance to high; however, I've mine set to AUTO and it works well anyway. Despite all of this, it's still a gimmick, albeit a cooler one now. Thanks for the "shocking" revelation dwallersv. Edited March 14, 2010 by meabigbaldguy
Guest trung365 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Hi, I'm using B7610 (Omnia Pro-Qwerty), installed the cab and tried with SPB 3.5.3, but even after soft reset and all reg adjustments, it' still very laggy (carousel), and GSensor doesn't work too. Change power management to High can only improve very little. Hope any one could help me out! Thanks a lot in advance.

Thanks for the "shocking" revelation dwallersv. so you are saying that now its working fully means 3d carousel, 3d sms/email & gsenser so if its working great with spb mobile shell 3.5.3 ??? i m gonna purchase omnia 2 this week anything else any one want to say about it
Guest MufAtHome Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 To get that sort of smooth 3D performance, you need to install Ginkage's accelerated OpenGL library, make the reg changes listed in this thread (it varies depending on which version of MS3 you've got -- 3.5.3 has 3D support for Omnia). The key here is the accelerated 3D lib, however! i have installed OpenGLESv1 by Ginkage, but Carousel in SPB 3.5.3 (build 9885) doesn't work anyway (works ... but no smooth at all). It behaves the same way, when i uninstall gl library. Carousel in "favourite contacts" works well. I have i8000 (XXIJ3). Should I try flash to JB1 (feb 2010)? Or any other suggestion? Thx
Guest cliffco823 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 I installed the cab and made the registry changes. Everything appears good, but it will not let me select any panels while in the carousel. SOft reset didn't help.
Guest Krecik2002 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 AFAIK Ginkage's library has nothing to do with carousel because in 3.5.3 it uses open GL 2.0, isn't it?
Guest GinKage Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 AFAIK Ginkage's library has nothing to do with carousel because in 3.5.3 it uses open GL 2.0, isn't it? Yup.
Guest amitsharma.atc Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Yup. means if i use spb mobile shell 3.5.3 everything will work great on omnia 2 or any other prob actually i m going to purchase omnia 2 or hd 2

Sad to say, that's a known problem with MS3.5 and the (partially implemented) accelerated OGL lib from GinKage. You gotta dig in the OGL thread to find that little gem, though. :) But hey, we were talking about the sexy 3D graphics here, not everything working right ;)

However, the video was made with 3.5.{0, 1, or 2} IIRC, right G-man?
