I am the developer of the Next2Me app. I recently released the latest BETA version of Next2Me, but some users are having some problems with the latest version. They don't get any GPS signal. Especially Toshiba and Omnia users are affected. So, I would be pleased if some of you can download the latest version of Next2Me from the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619329 , install and test it and write me your test results. THX in advance! C YA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619329 :( :D

Guest das7771 Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) Has anyone besides me tried this?? :) I thought it worked very good for finding locations in your area when GPS is active ;) :P ;) I have been meaning to try it, but I have been working on building a rom. I will check it out in a bit, cuz I need a break from looking at all of these dam files. **UPDATE** Overall the app works very well. Needs more categories than just restaurants and pizzeria, etc. It would be nice to have the restaurants broken down into categories such as Chinese food, Mexican food, etc. Only uses about 2.5mb of memory while running, and my GPS locked on in just a few seconds. The search function works very fast and it is also pretty up to date as it found a hungry howies near my house that only opened up about a month ago. Edited March 17, 2010 by das7771
Guest surgex Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) I like bing and google maps a lot better than this application. I use bing the most for finding stuff -- the coolest part about bing is that it has the voice input thing so you can do it while you're driving or "on the go" basically... I use google maps for satelite \ street view and baisc navigation, and garmin XT for real navigation...but imho bing is the best for finding places of interest. Off topic but I really wish Google Maps would give us the same navigation and stuff that they have on Android... Even if they just included compass integration and not full blown navigation, I would be happy. The version of maps for the ipad\iphone owns when you turn the compass on...it's really cool...too bad our phone has a compass and the only app that actually uses it is the one made by the developer from this community ;) Edited April 21, 2010 by surgex
Guest jbr05ki Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 Google Maps 4.1 just came out recently. It has voice searching as well.
