Guest ronalgps Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 (edited) hey what about this dump where you can find oem sys xip do you think to omnia 2 community can get something our lil one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...googtrans/it/en Edited March 16, 2010 by ronalgps
Guest Ganhiru Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I heard about this rom dump, Id like to see a WM7 omnia rom to. BUT :) This one is no good. Its x86 based and the O2 cpu is Arm7 based ( correct me if I'm wrong ). In anny case the Instruction set is Not compilable. Still I don't think that we will see usable roms with WM7 for the O2, this is because of the fact that WM7 will only support 1 resolution and a Captive Touch screen, wil not have multitasking, requires 512MB of ram and a faster CPU. It might work, but I doubt if it will be usable. ( Sill I do Hope it will be )
Guest NewForce Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 WM7 Chassis 1 Specification : Core requirements: Processor : ARM v6+, L2 Cache, VFP, Open GL ES 2.0 graphic Memory : 256MB+ DRAM, 1G+ Flash (at least 512MB fast flash) Display : WVGA (800×480) or FWVGA (854×480) on 3.5” and above screen. Touch : Support Multi-touch. Peripherals: Camera : 3MP+, flash optional, 2nd VGA front camera optional GPS : aGPS required Sensors required: Light Sensor, Compass (3 axis, 5 degrees, 100 Hz sample rate), Accelerometer (3 axis, 2mg resolution, 100 Hz sample rate) USB : Support USB2.0 Full speed. BlueTooth : 2.1 on MSFT BT stack, CSR BlueCore6 BT stack later. Wi-Fi : 802.11B/G required, MSFT Native Wi-Fi stack. Battery Charging : Micro USB Audio output : 3.5mm. OMNIA-2 passes all the requiremernts.

I Agree with you, but the requirements says only 256mb Ram (no real multitasking) and 8gb wich we have. But I think that our processor and our 3d hardware performance won't handle windows phone 7. And considering the news i'm hearing about winphone 7, I think I'll stay with my o2 for some months and I would go for and android device... what a pity... after so many years with winmo...
Guest NewForce Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 But I think that our processor and our 3d hardware performance won't handle windows phone 7. WM7 Processor req : ARM v6+, L2 Cache, VFP, Open GL ES 2.0 graphic Fyi, ARM 6+ cpu speed last known speed max at 665Mhz. Omnia2 S3C6410 CPU running @ 815Mhz with hard-wired 3D GFX accelerator and OpenGL ES 2.0 support.

Also camera must be 5MP+. Finally, capacitive touchscreen capable of 4 points of multi-touch is required. Omnia II has a resistive screen and no multi-touch (I believe).

No, the display resolution and camera requirement definitely not wrong for Chassis 1 spec. There will be other Chassis but no spec about them now. Think Microsoft purposely having this spec directly targeting to iPhone 3GS spec.

Guest GanjaShelter Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Omnia2 does not support multi touch have heard there is a software-solution for this problem. anybody heard about this? k.r. @.@Ganja@.@
Guest cicciosprint Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 have heard there is a software-solution for this problem. anybody heard about this? k.r. @.@Ganja@.@ Software won't do any good. Anyway, apart from the fact that WPS7 is utter crap for me, that's a mere emulator image, and even then a rather crappy one since nothing is there but an IE link. Nothing to sweat upon, guys.... wait and we will see. I think WPS7 is just a marketing stunt... come on, it even lacks copypaste! Looks like they did indeed copy something... the forst iPhone. Bleargh.
