Hello Everyone,

Seems like I have some major problem with my Omnia 2, so i will try to describe it as much as possible.

First off all I already had some experience with flashing, my previous phone was HTC touch diamond, so far everything was great, and no problems at all, just follow the manual and everything was ok! This time I basically did the same, looked at XDA forums and found out that this forum has the richest stuff on Omnia 2 and started to look for stuff I need.

About the phone.

I have a Omnia 2 with built in 8 megapixel camera, it came as an marketing sample from local Samsung branch. A friend of mine just pass it to me so I could have replacement for my broken phone.

Why I decided to flash?

Basically its because the camera didn't work, at first I thought that maybe its a some firmware or software problem, because when you turn on the camera it just shows all camera function menus, but no picture and if you want to use any of camera functions they just don't response and after a while the camera turns off and shoves massage: "application terminates due to the absence of camera module".

So I took manual posted here I8000 Guide to Flash and started to learning how to flash my Omnia 2, BTW great manual thanx tacchan23

After that i Just chose some files to check out if I'm doing everything the right way.

As far as I'm using windows 7 32bit, I downloaded drivers located here win7 XP drivers, also I downloaded OCTANS 2.14 from here Octans 2.14

At first time I decided to flash, CSC, PDA, and Phone part, followed the manual and everything went well like the knife thorough the butter :) after flashing, waited till OCTANS showed massage that Job is done, and then I preformed Master Reset. After booting UP I noticed that there where no changes to camera problem, so I decided to move on and look for some other files, but meanwhile i noticed that something strange happened the phone just shut down himself when it is in standby mode.

So now every time if I press hold button or wait till the phone goes in standby mode, after a few seconds it Just simply plays exit video and shuts down, this thing happens only when the phone is not connected to PC if it is connected to PC thorough USB cable, then everything works well.

Files that I already tried:

1st flash

pda-kstan-28223-jb1

CSC_I8000NXXIL5

Phone_I8000XXIL2

2nd flash

eBoot: eboot_i8000nxxja5_hw_40

PDA: I8000NXXIJ9

CSC: I8000XEEIJ8

PHONE: I8000XXIJ4

3erd flash

eBoot: eboot_i8000nxxja5_hw_40

PDA: PDA_I8000NXXJC1

CSC: I8000ITVJC1

PHONE: Phone_I8000XXJB2

So Hardcore guys, anyone, any suggestions what should cause this bug? Any chances to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you have en engineering sample which has a different hardware revision when compared to the official retail Omnia II. This could be the reason why the firmwares you got from this site cause problems to your phone.

It's not confirmed though, just my own guessing... :)

Yes as I said before, the phone came from our local samsung branch, so its obviously an sample not a retail phone, first i thought the same, but then I tried this ROM,

Note: The original baseband comes with J9 is J2 or J3, but J4 was fixed major issue for Western European.[/codebox]

and as far as I understand this is official ROM, so without any modifications. Its bad that I didn't wrote down the csc, pda, and phone info, before flashing, but the phone was dated with July 2009, maybe some older firmware would work, only question where to get one, I tried to look around but didn't found anything helpful. Maybe you guys have something left?

Also maybe there is a way to erase everything in a phone, and then try to flash, I see the options in OCTANS post-671855-1268920304_thumb.jpg only how to use them in correct way?
