if a lot of people will contribute to that topic, they may mention their gpsidril.dll in PDA ROM.

I'm using radio ROM jb1 and a wm6.1 gpsidril.dll (ii2 PDA ROM, 96824 bytes) as vagus advised here: http://www.modaco.com/content/i8000-verizo...0-wm6-5-gpsfix/

I'm so-so (semi) happy. it fixes to satellites in 20-25 sec outside the buildings. But not a performer like sirfIII chips in Asus P535 PDA-Phone.

is there any gpsidil.dll version, newer than wm6.5 JA5 PDA ROM's (98872 bytes long) ?

All wm 6.5 PDA ROM gpsidrill.dll's are buggy, up to and including JA5 as far as I know.

I have read somewhere that phone part can have some features that may be not supported by pda and vice versa.

Therefore same phone part can perform different on custom and official roms.

Is JB2 still the best performer in GPS?

for me the best JF1 with JF5 pda. (already tested all phone parts)

cold lock - max 1m.

hot - less 5s.

only reg modifications are made. (serch my topic aGPS reg entres from XDA)

using igo primo and igo8.3.

and no problems with phone sound and reception quality.

Hi Darius,

Sorry I am totally newbie here, just want to clarify. Did you mean JF1 "eboot" with JF5 pda are the best combination?

thanks in advance

I've tried the last year ALL the ROM our chefs have provide us (WM6.5 I don't like 6.5.x, I did tried few)...

I've make probably all the combination with the .bin and .SCS and few Eboot... On the end I go with the chef's recommendation :) ...

I've use 3 GPS the Google Map the Garmin and the iGO8...

ALL the times the ROM make the smallest contribution in my GPS reception... Plus no noticeable difference with the 4th or 7th port... I used to use 4/9600 but tried the 7 also...

ALL the times the Google Maps is the worst with second the Garmin and ALWAYS best the iGo8 for (cold?) start and all of them very fast in a GPS restart (that's the HOT?)

Sometimes Garmin falling in third place... :)

My two cents... :)

Sorry I just remembered only one old "Rapid's" ROM I had problem with but I had few with this ROM anyway like the SMS/MMS...

THX Darius.

aGPS/xtra does not help if not connected to the net.

Using sometimes wifi only.

Official roms have not been so good. gps wise, that is.

last test was with XEE GH2/GF1

Searching now for a lite rom, stable and suitable for mobile shell+espresso

Recommendations?
