configure Internet connection through WIFI

I8000 I8000NXXII9 WM6.5 Samsung rom bought in Germany.

Please help me configure Internet connection through WIFI.

I cannot get the supplied gmail client to access the internet through wifi.

It´s suppose to work... I receive e-mail through wi-fi all the time (yahoo and work e-mail). Never had any problem... How you add your gmail account? In my case, I go to wm e-mail and add manually the settings for yahoo and for my work (I dont use any app).
