Guest snapz54 Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I've never been able to continually and faithfully implement these features/programs that I miss from my original Omnia on the i920 Omnia 2. -changing to manual rotation/shutting off rotation all together. I don't work in landscape and it is infinitely annoying to have the phone stall while stuck in a rotation loop. -changing the lock screen using something like the HD2 mini lock program or SSkin or using the windows default lock screen only This always feels so buggy and unnecessarily difficult. Omnia 1 had all the lock screen controls in settings and it just made sense -programs not lining up with the bottom bar or taskbar mostly resco file explorer. On original omnia if you installed showcase task manager it would correct the problem and align resco. No need for showcase here though with the built in samsung task manager. this one is just bitching but I reallllly miss the D pad/trackpad. It feels like a necessity for touchscreen phones. I can use my fingers for the bulk of the navigating but on stuff like the recent call list on the dial pad it was perfect. up/ down swipe on the trackpad to pick the right contact and then left/right swipe to pick which number of theirs to dial (home, mobile, work) Now I have to use a swipe and select by touch and it's hit or miss my wishlist still includes -an HD2 like sense 2.5 port -samsung skinned sms and email app jinbox working fluidly on our i920's -a room in my house full of naked supermodels is that so much to ask? so seriously can anyone help out with any of these? as always I'm just trying to start a dialogue and help to inject a little life into our fledgling young community.

I don't see why its not possible to have no rotation. I have not tried it myself, but I would assume you could remove the registry entries for auto rotation. If not these below, maybe some others. There is also the registry entry to make the rotation button visible. Then you can assign it to whatever button you like turning it on/off when you like. Although I don't remember exactly what the entry is, I know Its on modaco already. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\AutoRotation] "Count" = dword:00000011 "0" = "Mobile IM" "1" = "Mobile Email" "2" = "V Cast Song ID" "3" = "VZ Navigator" "4" = "VZWTones" "5" = "V CAST Music" "6" = "V CAST Videos" "7" = "Visual VM" "8" = "Notes" "9" = "City ID" "10"= "FullScreenKeyboard" "11"= "Volume Controller" "12"= "File Picker" "13"= "Messaging" "14"="Outlook E-mail" "15"="Swype Tip" "16"="Swype Help"
Guest kdkinc Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Hey snapz54, I just had to flash again due to my own doing.I use Ninja"s rom which has the rotation program in it. I went in to the program settings and turned off all rotation abilities for the effected programs and nothing rotated. Maybe this is what your looking for??? :P :(
Guest snapz54 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 I'd deal with all the problems if only they could be under this ROM...
Guest Snow02 Posted April 9, 2010 Report Posted April 9, 2010 To get rid of rotation, just remove the rotation support file from your startup. SKTools has an option to assign manual rotation to a hardware button. I've had good luck using smart lock for stock winmo lock screen, on 23534. Latest 23547 not working yet for some reason...

Guest scudrunner Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I'd like to help you out with the supermodels, but at the moment I can't spare any. ;)
