Bad Wifi connection on Standby - See yourself!

This problem is not the Wifi Standby not working problem but something else!

I like listening to a web radio (with DroidLive and other apps) which works just fine. Except 1-2 minutes after turning the display off (when the buffer is empty) the stream stops. Turning the screen on resumes the stream (buffering).

I dont lose connection to my W-Lan (always get my mail, twitter etc) its just that the connection "drops".

This can easily be tested by pinging your N1:

cmd-->ping -t xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (<--insert ip)

Display on: 1ms

Display off: 2xx ms ...

Had this problem on Stock rom and on Modaco 2.1 (wifi policy is set to "never")

Please tell me your results...

By the sound of things your wifi is disconnecting and your going back onto 3g/gprs.

to test you could try the ping to an internal IP like try pinging your networks router

I am pinging my N1 on its internal IP which is only available while being connected to the Router ;) So no, the Wifi is def. not disconnecting ;)
