Guest Rommie2k6 Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 As above, do I need to flash eboot when upgrading from 6.1 to 6.5? Also, which eboot should I use, since most cooked ROMs are just PDA images?
Guest jebise Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 I think it's recommend to flash eboot when updating from 6.1. You can always flash PDA see if you have issues and then decide. If the cooked PDA is JD1 then flash JD1 eboot, whatever came with the original ROM before the cooker got there hands on it.

Guest Rommie2k6 Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 I tried it, you can (but that nearly gave me a heart attack!!) The guide mentioned that when upgrading from 6.1 -> 6.5 without the correct eboot some functions like suspend won't work correctly. Does anyone know more details about this and what other functionalities will be impaired?

Does anyone know more details about this and what other functionalities will be impaired? there's a possbility of problems occurring. But I had no problems with my first WM6.5 rom(HZHIL1 official stock rom - downloaded from a HK forum and flashed it using then Octan 2.09 becos the rom wasn't released officially. The only 6.5 rom Samsung HK has officially released thus far is HZHIL2). However having said that, some functions may not work properly, but you only find out about them when you use them

I tried using 1)WM6.1 eboot (HZHIH6) to flash an official stock WM6.5 internal testing rom (HZHIL1); 2) using WM6.5 eboot (HZHIL2 official release stock rom) to flash KSTAN JA5/JB1 WM6.5.3 full roms, JB1 WM6.5.5 6&8mb pp full roms (weren't very stable so don't count these two) and the current official WM6.5 internal testing rom (HZHJC2) and all the roms have worked fine on my phone even tho I have never flashed a rom using the corresponding eboot.
