Maybe you can try this method from whx_100 at kingmoile.net of China:

1.Download the tool Pako777's tool at here and unzip it:

http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general.../i900-executor/

2.Flash the .mst to your i8000;

3.Synchronize your i8000 with PC;

4.Excute Pako777's Excutor.exe,choose 'Tools' tab you can see as this:

Then press 'Go'.

5.Choose DSK1and press 'Go'

Wait a few minutes you'll get the info where the .bin you dumped is.

Doing above may get the .bin you want as whx_100 says.I have tried it successfully.Maybe you could have a try if you have no other options.

I have tried this today and selecting dsk1 in Pako's executor, you get the correct rom image file.

Just tried and it's working great!

Maybe it would be better if all needed information are in one place instead of referencing to them (ie, I had a bit problems with step 4. until I realized

where and which files I needed to copy/rename).

I have a problem, on startup I have errors on poutlook and welcome not signed or without certificate.

1. only need to change the .rgu and .provxml file in zzzzzMyMods folder.

based on my experience for building the Italian lite rom, only need to change the Name and the Path (or Program Name) for the key. (It's different in different language)

2. you forget to include zzzzzMyMods to OEM folder or un-select it in BuildOS.... there's a custsat.dll in such folder, you will get poutlook error without this file.

There're lots of softwares (e.g,themes,Sense 2.5,etc) can only be installed in my device.So a personal customed lite rom,especially with every software I want,none of software I don't need, is a must for me. ;)

Xip.bin => the dump for you rom is successful? if you dump a normal rom in romtool.exe, it should have such file in there.

the other 2 lines is not an error, because this is not a beta kernel, don't need to patch it.

i cannot create xip dir... maybe hidden dir, coz i can create different folders, but not xip named

created but hidden, or what??

SOLVED:

there was file named Xip without ext. deleting file and everything works fine ;)

i finished my first polish lite rom (RAM: 100 MB free, ROM: 157 MB)! and... i have some problems...

1. on start errors: poutlook.exe and welcome.exe (cannot open or doesn't signed)

2. Tcalendar doesn't work (cannot open or doesn't signed)

3. Samsung setting named original "Settings" but not in polish "Ustawienia", Phonebook, Touch caendar, Audio note... the same problem...

4. i almost forgot... windows default screen not included... why? I deleted widgets and samsung today only..?

5. phone doesn't work, dial keypad doesn't show ;)

any help will be appreciated ;)

I followed all instructions and made a flashable nb0!

The last few posts made it work when adding the missing folders, I was just about to give up!.

I did not change or delete anything, just follow the flow... Ended up with plenty of free ram.

As I thought you could just use 1 language I was surprised that all languages was still there. I did not erase the old csc when flashing, that might be the reason as that was the greece csc that came with the d1. When I previously erased csc when flashing i get a "load csc" when conected to pc and turned off.

At least I'm on my way with a first small step thanks to the great instructions.

Next step is to make a new one with all samsung shells gone (going with spb shell) but the rest intact and with only Swedish language and 10 or 15 mb pagepool.

I would not mind skipping Opera also (it's also very large) as i like the mini5 the best anyways.

Can I just erase/remove all files except Opera in the deleted/OEMapps folder that I like to keep and end up with what I want.

Some apps might consist of more than one file so it will be difficult to know exactly what files to use/delete, there looks to be 8 files associated with Opera.

Am I close or completely out cycling here! All help is most appreciated.

If a noob like me could make a nb0 tells volumes about your instructions and tools. Thank you very much Twu2, Sorg, Wes58 and others.

even someone don't like lite rom... I still suggest he to build his rom use wes58's romtool again.

Just choose LZX compression, in a full rom, it still can get 20%-30% space for device.

This is a very good idea, I might try that or did anyone post a rom like that. Is there such rom for D1 ready for download, if so, where?

Do you copy the zzzzzMyMods to to OEM folder? and select 'My OEM' in BuildOS?

No easy way to find the related files for some package..

Do you use my new script? it will move the package files into OEM folder as a package, you can just select what you want.

We need to do anything else (eg. modifying the registry ...) in addition to adding these files to use another language?

i forgot to select or unchecked myOEM

after that, this morning i was created working lite version of JD1 rom.

but...

still some problems...

1. samsung settings named "Settings" not in polish lang "Ustawienia", the same problem as previously (phonebook etc.) (edited lang.txt from 0409 to 0415)

2. no windows default home screen

3. samsung today doesn't work, can't select...

everything else work like a charm ;)
