Guest sinancetinkaya Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 (edited) I've seen that many people are watching divx/xvid videos in Samsung's Touch Player. But I8000 has hardware h264 video decoding. You can watch high quality h264 videos even CPU is set to low performance. I made a video about how to make x264 videos for Samsung I8000 Requirements: Latest MeGUI encoder http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/ ffdshow http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ffdshow.htm Haali Media Splitter http://haali.su/mkv/ Copy the attached xml file to ..\MeGUI\allprofiles\x264 Video MeGUI_x264_video_encoding_for_Samsung_I8000__s_hardware_h264_decoder.mp4 here is a converted video, omnia2 plays this video smoothly even in low performance mode. TCPMP can't play this video but slide show http://rapidshare.com/files/380329283/Moto...tro-muxed_0.mp4 If you have problems in MeGUI during encoding, (PC) start/programs/ffdshow/Video decoder configuration, Disable decoder for H.264/AVC in settings x264_dp__omnia2.xml Edited April 26, 2010 by sinancetinkaya
Guest filougk Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I can't import your preset using MeGUI 0.3.4.0 . I wanted to see if i could improve mine.O2_Megui_x264_Preset.zip
Guest sinancetinkaya Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 I can't import your preset using MeGUI 0.3.4.0 . I wanted to see if i could improve mine. There is no import option, just copy my xml file to <installation directory>\MeGUI\allprofiles\x264 Or just do the same settings you see in the video I shared

Guest sinancetinkaya Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 (edited) How long does it take to do a 1080p movie? jv it completely depends on your computer performance and your encoding settings. I have an E6400, a 4.5 gb 1080p BDRip h264 video takes about 5-6 hours (I always choose two pass for better quality) Edited April 16, 2010 by sinancetinkaya
Guest Ender Psp Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 How long does it take to do a 1080p movie? jv Depends on 1. duration, 2. your hardware (cpu) 3. codec/encoder As an example, a 40 min 1080p episode might take anywhere from 25 to 60 min to encode depending on your hardware.

Guest patatosalata Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Hi there, I just encoded a movie with x264. Touchplayer froze up, then a split the file to 100MB pieces and it plays fine. Anything over 100MB will crash it. This happens on both JD1 and JD3. Do you have this problem? Any advice? P.S mpeg4 works fine Edited April 21, 2010 by patatosalata
Guest JohnJayJrV Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 I've actually been using AVIDemuxer using Mpeg4-ASP (XVid). I just set a filter to downsize the movie to 720x400 (or whatever, it does second part automatically based on aspect ratio). Right now I'm doing a 720p (1280x534 @ 4700kpbs) movie and it takes about 50 minutes. Quality is excellent as well. I have a Core i7 w/ 6gb RAM running Vista x64..... I believe it took me about an 1 1/2 to do a 1080p movie. Was hoping your method would be faster..... jv
