Guest BigBearMDC Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) Okay, I got neocore running: Without OC: 26.1 FPS With OC: 19.5 FPS ;) But I have to say that I wasn't able to kill the other running processes because all my widgets and apps got screwed up. Neocore seems actually to run smoother with the OCed kernel though, but it freezes sometimes. I guess that's why the frame-rate is lower ;) Also, all apps, especially the market, load up faster. By the way, just through out your SD Card and you can install Neocore, even though A2SD isn't working properly ;) And the Pulse doesn't get warmer at all. But I think the battery drains faster (IF it is overclockerd - I haven't yet got the chance to prove it) Greetings, BigBear Edited April 21, 2010 by BigBearMDC
Guest HunteronX Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Wouldn't it run faster without network anyway? ;) I can't trust over clocking a mobile processor, I added extra fans before doing it to my pc and only overclocked until the temperature matched stock before adding the fans :/ I think the phone is faster - and to Azurren; the phone has second 528MHz processor for audio, communications etc.so using network communications shouldn't slow the phone down. At least according to xda-developers...
Guest Azurren Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 I think the phone is faster - and to Azurren; the phone has second 528MHz processor for audio, communications etc.so using network communications shouldn't slow the phone down. At least according to xda-developers... Just testing now i can see a noticeable speed increase when in airplane mode. Even if the pulse does have a secondary processor I'm sure that it doesn't serve 2/3g and all the background data / apps that seem to be taking constantly ;) Believe me when I say that I am not just trying to get you guys down but.. Without proof it may just not be working :S

Guest Tom G Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 Holy s***! The Phone seems to be amazingly fast! But is there a way to look up the CPU speed? Greetings, BigBear sysfs can tell you cpufreq. # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq 528000
Guest TheNano Posted June 5, 2010 Report Posted June 5, 2010 sysfs can tell you cpufreq. # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq 528000 he ment cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_current_freq I guess
Guest Tom G Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 (edited) he ment cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_current_freq I guess No, I meant cpuinfo_max_freq, alternatively scaling_max_freq could be used. As they were trying to change the maximum frequency max_freq should be used. The current frequency should change depending on cpu load, so once the max freq is successfully changed to show higher, then the cpu should be put under load and the current freqency checked. As you can see below, current frequency does not represent the maximum. # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq 245760 PS. /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_current_freq doesn't exist (but I think it did before? Maybe it was removed after 2.6.27). Maybe you meant /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq. Edited June 6, 2010 by Tom G
Guest tuxuy Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 There is any news about this topic? someone tried something else? apps keep getting screwed up??.. it would be great to be able to overclock my u8220-6..
