Guest rafyvitto Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Check out some of the htc forums and I'm sure you'll find similar problems with all manufacturers. I would wait for an official Acer ROM before jumping to conclusions. These leaked roms seem like they still need some testing & tweaking left, which is probably why there are all these delays and pushbacks on 2.1 ROMs (on Motorola & HTC handsets too). I said i was going to wait for the official 2.1 before deciding wether to sell the liquid or not, i know they beta oem roms, i know about rom bulding and many other stuff , im not retarded , i've been dealing with phones and the major mobile platforms for along time know, maybe its just that you dont know who i am, i guess you haven't visited xda, anyways im well aware of mobile platforms/devices in the current market, il decided which way to go after the 2.1 official OEM rom is released from acer.

RESPECT HIS AUTHORITILE!!!! Raffy's been cookin up dope roms since way back in the day. I used to sport his S200 neotouch roms. Anyway, you guys say the navi issue is fixed in this rom. Probably won't help me since my gps is dead regardless what version android i'm on, but i'll give it a try and hopefully i'll luck out.
Guest Quipeace Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 (edited) uhhh a recovery isnt solely for custom roms dude. its for sooo much more. flash a theme, flash single files, partition, root your system amongst others. so yes id flash the recovery unless you dont plan on rooting it then you got no need for a recovery except for the backuppart I'm pretty sure I can safely say that he is not going to do that? After all, he says he is just going to run a stock rom. I don't want to overcomplicate things if he isn't interested in the subject (hence the "stuff like it" part of my post). I don't feel any difference between 0.008 and this one, not speed wise anyway. Edited April 23, 2010 by Quipeace
Guest Riekr Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 just type 'su' yes i know but with other custom roms when you type "adb shell" you get directly into root shell without typing su. this creates the problem ex1337 and have: I've rooted that ROM with malez root-methode 2 and i'm root on shell. But i can't push anything to /data/app or cant execute "remount" -.- this is due to the adbd server on the phone not running as root. i don't know how to fix it
Guest ChrilleBerg Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 (edited) Need help. I flashed the new ROM 0.010.00 with Acer tool...no problems. Problems occur after I installed malezRecovery 0.5.2. This flash is also successful, I get all the nice stuff and can root the phone…but if I chose to reboot it from malez menu, it always reboots into recovery again…and again. Can’t get it to boot OS, I'm stuck in a "recovery boot loop". Any suggestions? I have tried to apply the new ROM once again and do the whole thing all over, but result is the same. Update: I got help from malez in his recovery thread, will try his tip :-) Edited April 23, 2010 by ChrilleBerg

Guest Ninlour Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 here's a complete review for this leak: NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE still same bugs and same issues. for people looking for Navigation fix.. (bad news) it's still useless for those who are looking for nexus one live wallpaper.. same issue white screen if you are looking for speed ..really has no difference than the previous one. currently went back to 1.6 and I'm tired of a useless navigation and an over heating phone , you know, before i burn it at least keep it safe.
Guest bais Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 For me speed is better, everything is a little faster, really it may become great with some Custom ROM.
Guest krumbalu Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 (edited) i've noticed everything to be faster with this latest leak, the menus the homescreen etc. and so far i didn't have any error messages or freezes like the one that forces you to pull out the battery, for now everything fine, i hope for the final version to get as fast as the 2.00.16 1.6 version of android :P pretty fast and polished i hope  Edited April 23, 2010 by krumbalu

Guest Lorents Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 The phone is usually at its fastest right after a fresh install, and then it slows down as apps get installed and the dalvik cache get filled up with crap. It'll be interesting to see how fast it is in a few weeks

Guest CedricGatay Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Install the new bin, malez 0.5.2, boot into recovery : root (method 2), install busybox. Reboot into android os. Go to market, install Titanium Backup, second tab, scroll to "whatever name it is it contains XT9", select uninstall. I think the xt9 lib is still on the system, but unused it's not big deal
Guest m3allak Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Thank you guy it worked great by the way, i removed many native apps and the phone is quite faster now
