To fix wifi copy the /system/wifi/ directory from the 1.5 system image that matches the kernel you're using. The wifi module and firmware vary slightly between the different 1.5 releases (I know of 3 different versions) so if your using the mcr kernel use the wifi stuff from the mcr system image or the december update image.

Good point! That works (using the december update wifi version). Cheers.

Thanks just did that now, is there any chance of getting the sim card to work and connect to the network ?

Dan

I'm not sure how all the radio stuff works. From what I can remember there is some radio stuff built into the kernel (ie. not external modules), however the other external modules that normally get loaded (lzo tun etc) may be the problem. I'm not sure where they are in the system image, but they shouldn't be hard to find. Try copy them all to the new system image. Look for anything ending in .ko.

Check the dmesg output and see if there is anything about modules not loading/undefined symbols.

Could someone please upload a nandroid recovery image? I really can't be bothered to go through the hassle of restoring all my stuff after wiping...

Hi just wondering if you could upload a new zip file with the 2.1 rom and the new wifi files. My winzip ran out yesterday and this free crappy one is stupid.

Thanks

That's cause you have to sign the zip file. Search for testsign.jar

If someone could upload it with WiFi in a signed file, That'd be great.

if you can upload the file to be signed, my downlaod tooks another 8 minutes, waiting almost 30 minutes.

while editing the normale pulse rom i got massive problems with f*cking cecksum, dont know if it had changed:

if i add oder delet a file, the shar1 checksum was incorrekt, but bigbear found a great solution. after id edit the manifest and cert.sf file with the new korrekt cecksum, the rom wont even installing. it aborded the installation with "545 unsigned files found"-> the whole rom was/is protected with an RSA Cryton system.

if you want to edit something, you need the private key in cert.rsa, hows made of cert.sf and faktor X.

Manifest.xml and cerst.sf ar almost the same, but we need the private key to get cert.rsa.

maybe someone can rework the key? both cekcsums from cert.sf und cert.rsa are connected with a special association, which got to be worked out.

the manifest shar1 key eg is generated by al shar1s from the files inside.

*edit*

got the rom right now, gonna trie to port some apps

Hope i could help you with this, and again, sry for my bad english...

THX guys,

Android 2.1 runs

though reporting from time to time: android.process.acore stopped

at least now I can install some Android 2.x apks besides the emulator :-)

Here is a nandroid image from the update.zip

@feelmychi: the update.zip has the quickboot app, though I could not run it because of above error :-(

still experimenting:

I used my Android 1.5 wifi + got it only working once :-)

but since then it either does not recognize wifi or resets when activating wifi :-(

could someone zip me the wifi files which work please?

btw: my dmesg tells me all time:

ERROR:arch/arm/mach-msm/smd_ctl2.c:220:smd_ctl_read: count = 2048 > MAX_BUF_SIZE = 1024

it is just a nandroid from the update.zip

WiFi: didn't work with the 1.5 wifi files, so didn't include them

nothing more done yet on the ROM itself

I nearly feel embarrassed that I didn't try out our kernel with the Pulse Mini's ramdisk :P

Just don't put too much work in this...

I wouldn't say that this are inside news :P

Huawei will release Android 2.1, its just a matter of time.

And the Pulse Mini ROM will never work 100%... so its kinda waste of time IMHO.

Greetings,

BigBear
