Guest Josh04 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 I nearly feel embarrassed that I didn't try out our kernel with the Pulse Mini's ramdisk :P Just don't put too much work in this... Greetings, BigBear I did, I just didn't package it properly :D
Guest le_lutin Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 I wouldn't say that this are inside news :P Huawei will release Android 2.1, its just a matter of time. And the Pulse Mini ROM will never work 100%... so its kinda waste of time IMHO. Greetings, BigBear If you were to guess, would you say it'll happen in a week, two weeks or a month? Go on, have a guess!
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 If you were to guess, would you say it'll happen in a week, two weeks or a month? Go on, have a guess! I'd guess between two weeks and one month. Greetings, BigBear
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) Sure is android 2.1. Sure is slow :P Guys please stop worrying about Android's speed... It will run much smoother than 1.5 ... Hell, are you all Windows users? :D Edited May 4, 2010 by BigBearMDC
Guest Rem1x Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Guys please stop worrying about Android's speed... It will run much smoother than 1.5 ... Hell, are you all Windows users? :D Haha, I know it would be slow, it's not a proper rom. And yes I do use windows, 7 to be exact. You'd cry if you saw how fast it was :P I'm so excited for 2.1 now, so much more thought out! (vid soon)

You'd cry if you saw how fast it was :P I'm so excited for 2.1 now, so much more thought out! (vid soon) The feature I'm missing most is an alarm sound for low battery.... I have my Pulse lying around in my room and don't even recognize that it ran out of battery... That's really annoying! Greetings, BigBear

Guest Rem1x Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 "vid soon" of what? A video of the ROM running. It's strange, the phone is getting smoother, it's almost quite nice!
Guest Josh04 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 2.1 with this ROM is almost certainly going to be much much slower than with the official one, and battery life worse. The ROM is in a constant state of shitting itself over mismatched buffer sizes and graphics drivers.

I'll be honest, only the scrolling is slow, the rest is pretty swift.

Guest Daniel Williamson Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Hi, Every time i add the new wifi files and sign the package, stops when on the android boot screen, the yellow animation doesent even come on :l Dan
Guest Rem1x Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 So much crap running the background! Getting 32MB free RAM with loads of stuff closed. The MCR for this is going to be blazing fast, I think.

Gotta catch a wild dev in the wrong field (Nexus/Desire) Though I think it may be wiser for any dev just to wait for the official release. It is after all just around the corner

Guest David Horvath Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Could somebody sum up what is working and what is not? Thanks.
Guest Rem1x Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 (edited) Could somebody sum up what is working and what is not? Thanks. Any thing wireless = not working 3D Acceleration(I think, neocore won't run, says it does not support accelerated graphics.) = Not working Playing MP3s = Perfect Scrolling = Slow Live Wallpapers = Slow EDIT: Polar clock runs perfect. That's what I can see anyway. edit: Accelerometer = Nope Camera= No. edit2: Video = No go. Edited May 4, 2010 by Rem1x
Guest Basher52 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 iam not even ably to get the rom flashed :P i doenloaded the file, the zip archive and copied it to my sdcard, after this i renamed the orig one with nandroid2. when i got to recovery->restore nand, und browse the nandroid file i became: "could not open sdcard/nandroid/nandroid". flashing with flash zip is also not possible, but its quiet logical, while its an nandroid backup. so, how do i get this rom "working".

Guest neopeek Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 about expectations: I am happy when I get the last.fm player to work in this Android 2.1 (so , I will need WiFi :-( ) for the rest I will just experiment (learning by doing) over time until the Huawei releases their Android 2.1 ( but I am not sure when the final release by Huawei will arrive, I mean they postponed now a few times :-( ) WiFi: didn't work with the 1.5 wifi files, so didn't include them nothing more done yet on the ROM itself so, since I still have no wifi files from someone who said wifi is working, here my md5sums: (the wifi dir from the "09/Feb 1.7 - MoDaCo Custom ROM - U8230 Vanilla Style") 3afa4ede15c77f36beb9b181edc07122 ar6000.ko 2c71b6d53aa55d3dd1f5f9e692c27ea5 artagent 1f8ec9dd91a1ee22c681431a709ec962 athtcmd_ram.bin 861e1ed991ebd458adeb5d17f0b113ec athwlan.bin.z77 6ee3d958f40b607f8333cb27bd24f703 data.patch.hw2_0.bin a56df49a80048e15a36980e2d70f4ee3 device.bin 7e0dc2bcd1d82246be07c8a3b195d112 iwconfig ea0be0a406e67387f407daa2cf5dcd7a iwlist 297ab65b57818b4a063ed0759af522a2 loadART.sh c5a0062c94f492a10d247b0c2c69900d loadecho.sh 4faaa19ecfa753b2624b20b70bc313b1 U8220.bin d9b17987a8a356e960cabf29a02da921 udp_server btw: my dmesg tells me all time: ERROR:arch/arm/mach-msm/smd_ctl2.c:220:smd_ctl_read: count = 2048 > MAX_BUF_SIZE = 1024 What do you see in your dmesg?
Guest neopeek Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Open the nandroid file with WinRAR. as Rem1x said, the nandroid is packed (with tar) one should copy the content to a place the recovery tool can read from (e.g. where you can flash normally your update.zip) e.g. on my system it is /sdcard (but I have also seen to be it: /system/sd ) so, in the end you should then have such a dir structure: /sdcard/nandroid/mem=128M/BCDMRS-20100503-2329/ and there you should have these files: boot.img cache.img data.img misc.img nandroid.md5 recovery.img system.img
