U8110 Android 2.1 ROM

So we basically want to use the December update radio, Codeaurora kernel with the Huawei drivers from the Mini. Sound fun  I'm still thinking about how that Mini rom came out, and if it came out, how far are we for somehow getting a leaked or final Pulse 2.1 rom...

Would be very funny to send Huawei some pictures of Android 2.1 running on the Pulse before they actually released it :P

What we have to do now is:

  • Download the Huawei QMR kernel source
  • Download the 2.6.29 msm kernel source from CodeAurora
  • Diff them
  • Merge the differences into the 2.6.29 kernel

This is eventually something I could do on my own - but it would take ages.

By the way there is a "Teams" tab on every useres profile page.

Does anybody know how to create a team?

Dont know if this is known, i just found it: http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/resources/si...ode_11_2009.zip

OH NO!

DROP THIS OFF YOUR HDD!

No j/k :P

This source wasted weeks of my life...

I compiled it, and recompiled it, and recompiled it ... it just didn't work!

And then someone told me that this kernel will crash/reboot when Android loads the Audio Manager and told me to download the QMR kernel source.

So the kernel source from T-Mobile is pretty useless

Greetings,

BigBear

Are you working on the assumption that 2.1 might never be released for the Pulse? Otherwise it might be a huge waste of time to try to cludge a solution together for something that is round the corner. I'd prefer to wait 3 weeks to have the official release than have someone (some people) spend hours and hours getting a kernel together only to find that it was a waste of time.

Honestly, I don't really believe that Huawei will release Android 2.1 for the Pulse in a few weeks...

Thanks for the links!

I found a binary in the android source that lets me generate an update-script.

But it requires a file called android-info.txt, and I don't have it

If it works by just copying our Pulse kernel into the boot.img, it would work the same way for your U8220-6 :P

Even if I / we have to build a 2.6.29 kernel, it should work on the U8220-6 too.

Greetings,

BigBear

hey ,Bigbear, I represent all the pulse users in China to deliver my thanks from the bottom of my heart ,we are waiting for the moment for a long time, wish your success!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
