Guest hungary Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 He just did not want to brick his phone. That's all... He waiting for someone, who try the rom.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) Correct me if i'm wrong please, just to make this clear. So this is a ROM for the Pulse mini, which does NOT work on the normal Pulse (yet), is this right? Just some ppl are already thinking that 2.1 is fine and running now. No this is the Pulse Mini ROM, which is definetly not working on the Pulse. Unless we have a working 2.6.29 kernel, and even if we have that its not sure that this ROM would work. By the way, I already tested it, and reported what happened: It freezed at the bootlogo and that's it. Off topic: My Pulse just reseted itself while I was calling somebody  Do you know what sound it makes if you get a bluescreen while you're listening to music? Well, it sounds exactly the same on the Pulse ... Greetings, BigBear Edited April 29, 2010 by BigBearMDC

Guest BigBearMDC Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 The touchpal from the mcr gives an error also :S And i dont have a2sd so i cant try your other method Hmm that's weird. Try uninstalling the older touchpal first, and then reinstalling tho one you like. Greetings, BigBear
Guest Sh4d0w940 Posted April 29, 2010 Report Posted April 29, 2010 (edited) I just tried to simply paste the files in system/app but my phone crashed and hangs on boot :o Luckily i kinda expected that to happen so im restoring my 1minute old nand backup now  Edit: I restored nand and installed the original touchpal from an zip version of the stock rom problem solved :P Still though, it's great you've uploaded this new rom  Edited April 29, 2010 by Sh4d0w940

Guest bas-r Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 i can't find the download link !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look for "Save file to your PC: click here", and then, well, click there ;-) Read a few pages back though, since this IS NOT FOR OUR T-MOBILE PULSE, but for the Mini.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Hi guys. Just uploaded the whole thing in update.zip format. -> Look first post. Edit: Renamed Topic  Greetings, BigBear Edited April 30, 2010 by BigBearMDC
Guest Carlo73 Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Hi, Maybe I'm a bit "lost in the woods" but should this work on U8220?
Guest Dalius Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Nope. calamity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Josh04 Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Well, I finally got around to having a look at this. Sadly, no combination of files from boot.img's new and old that I could find worked. Not helped, of course, by the fact that split-bootimg.pl gets the size of the kernel and ramdisk wrong, so I could just be using a kernel missing a few bytes. Ideally, we need to bug Huawei for the kernel source.

Guest xangma Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Can't you make a 2.6.29 kernel from that kernel? Surely it's using much of the same hardware?
Guest David Horvath Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 "I can use my phone normaly but this is not good." S#it... BigBEAR! Hurry, hurry, we can make it work with the right screen settings  I wish i would have finished my diploma theses...

Can you call Pulse? -If you touch the screen, do you see any difference? -If you push the camera button, do you see any difference on the screen? Thanks.
Guest Josh04 Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Guys, he's not running the new ROM. He's just messed up his nandroid recovery somehow. @xangma: Can't mess with the kernel without the kernel source.

He's just messed up his nandroid recovery somehow. @xangma: Can't mess with the kernel without the kernel source. What I understood is that he wasn't even able to apply his backup. Is someone else willing to try it? Greetings, BigBear
Guest Tom G Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 Can't you make a 2.6.29 kernel from that kernel? Surely it's using much of the same hardware? There is indication in the system image that the U8110 uses a different CPU (an msm7x25 instead of the msm7201A in the U8220) so the hardware may have some significant differences.
