Guest lucasjohny Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) Have been try all the gps sulotion none of it work fine actually, however recently just did some changers on my GPS registry and wow now my gps can be fix in 20 sec. I'm using garmin mobile xt. Below is the registry of my setting and actually I think to make the fix faster is only to activate the timesyn. Just for reference anyone can try without import my reg but just chane the timesyn then you can get the difference.. enjoy [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Samsung\RIL\GPS] "Accuracy"=dword:0000000C "AGPSStatus"=dword:00000000 "Running"=dword:00000000 "QOPDelay"=dword:0000000C "ResponseTime"=dword:00000001 "AGPSRoaming"=dword:00000000 "VAccuracy"=dword:00000000 "TTFF_WaitTime"=dword:00004E20 "TTFF_NumOfTimes"=dword:0000000A "TimeSync"=dword:00000001 "SUPLMaxLogFileSize"=dword:00000000 "SUPLOldLogFile"="" "SUPLCurrentLogFile"="" "Certification"=dword:00000000 "SSL"=dword:00000000 "RefreshRate"=dword:00000001 "MaxLocationAge"=dword:00000000 "StartingMode"=dword:00000001 "SessionType"=dword:00000001 "AccessPoint"="" "ServerAddress"="" "OperatingMode"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Samsung\RIL\GPS\XTRA] "DownloadResult"=dword:00000001 "XTRARoaming"=dword:00000000 "Enable"=dword:00000001 "UseSNTP"=dword:00000001 "AutoDownloadWifi"=dword:00000000 "AutoDownloadActiveSync"=dword:00000000 "AccessPoint"="" "UseSpecificAPN"=dword:00000000 "DownloadInterval"=dword:000000A8 "AutoDownload"=dword:00000000GPS.zip Edited April 27, 2010 by lucasjohny

That's it, it doesn't have any affect on speed of getting a gps fix.

I did try it before I posted a comment and haven't seen any difference. If you want to prove your point have two phones at the same location (one with Timesync set to 1) and start your gps application at the same time, otherwise there are different conditions that can affect the speed of getting a fix. Time is synchronized if there is an information received from a Satellite, so there is no magic in it - you need to get a fix first.

Guest Mikroft Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 There are coldfix and hotfix times. Of course if your first coldfix took 2 min. then you install the app it'll be warmfix with faster TTF
