Guest Fruchtzwerg Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) I have heard that the 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2 Radio update causes some Problems on the .80 devices (like no 3G+ Speeed (H symbol)) Not here, Radio update is running good. 3G and HSDPA is running very well. My Provider is O² and i have a O² Desire (hboot 0.80 now with root). Edited May 7, 2010 by Fruchtzwerg
Guest TechZombie Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 All sources for 0.80 are down or ressources are over limit ... s**t ...

Guest 42turkeys Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Does the 0.80 one solve the 'Main version check error' for people with 0.75 bootloaders and 1.15.xxx roms?
Guest mistervain Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 O2 requires a goldcard. Thank you! You are right! My Desire is now rooted :P
Guest Rdy2Go Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Excellent, another success report - 0.80 bootloader is no longer an issue, flashed your MCR1 ROM without any problems!!! THANK YOU
Guest Rdy2Go Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I have heard that the 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2 Radio update causes some Problems on the .80 devices (like no 3G+ Speeed (H symbol)) I do have this radio from Asian ROM and works fine.

Guest CaspaTheGhost Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 On an XP machine... Update... SD card works fine in my PC so formatted it and put it back in the Desire but still just comes up with 'SD Card Removed', tried it in a Hero and works fine also... So definately my phone, so it cant read my SD, wont find a network and isnt recognised when plugged into the PC via USB cable... Therefore I decided screw this for a laugh, and now have a new one coming from Orange tomorrow morning! Unsure whether I want to give it another go... Debranding worked fine, but this went proper tits up... Thinking if it was something to do with my GoldCard which I used to debrand and then just used as a normal SD from then on...

Guest Fruchtzwerg Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I have now root on my 0.80 Desire. But i have a few questions. What really makes the program SuperUser Permissions, which can be found in the program list? When I start the program it shows me nothing. Is this correct? Can it do something or show me the icon that I have root access?

Guest waterc00l Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) I have now root on my 0.80 Desire. But i have a few questions. What really makes the program SuperUser Permissions, which can be found in the program list? When I start the program it shows me nothing. Is this correct? Guest U-Man Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 ok, i have to do all the wipes, found it in this thread any pages before :P Yes...not necessarily the battery and rotate though. @Techzombie it's "flash from zip" not "wipe from file" :D
Guest DinoCro Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Please help me! Rooting process gets stuck on "Wipe" options. Won't do "wipe ext" and says "run wipe ext from adb". Any solution? Another question - I have HTC Desire SIM-free, unlocked and unbranded. I used goldcard to root it, and now from what I understand I don't need a goldcard, right? Thank you very much. Guest Fruchtzwerg Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 The app gives you an overview which apps use root/su access. When you install such a program you will see it. Ok, all clear. :P Thx
Guest Yanzi Zhu Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) Hey Paul :D Really sorry to tell you that all of the files for 0.75 are invalid to download :P Haha~ the third link remains... Edited May 7, 2010 by Yanzi Zhu
Guest Lukewarm Earthcrawler Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 I needed root to access my corporate WiFi network that requires LEAP; and thanks to your method and this guide http://huang.yunsong.net/2009/android-wifi-leap.html I have it now. Thanks Paul! There is some strange thing though. I have a private mail server that uses an SSL certificate signed by my own private CA. I keep this CA's certificate on the web, and install it into new client software and gadgets as I need. It works fine most of the time. I got generic HTC Desire a few days ago, and its mail client did successfully connect to my mail server, both over SSL IMAP (port 993, I did not check STARTTLS) and over SMTP STARTTLS (did not check 465 port). I cannot tell for sure if mail connections worked before or after I attempted to install my CA certificate. After flashing your root update, and (apparent) installation of the CA certificate, the behaviour of the mail client changed: I can make IMAP work with STARTTLS but not over 993 port, and I cannot make any encrypted SMTP modes (465 port or STARTTLS) work. It looks very much like this problem http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1016 but the point is that it worked before! Could it be that with your update, either mail client or certificate management framework got downgraded, or something like that? Thanks, Luke
Guest StuMcBill Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 OK, I have tried it in Ubuntu and it tells me that it cannot open fastboot-linux? Tried it in Windows 7 x64 (I know the guide says not to, but some people have reported success. When I do this, step 1 completes ( with a failed 90 HBOOT error), and when I enter recovery, I get a picture of a phone with a red exclamation mark and I can't get any further? I am downloading the TinyCoreLinux iso just now to try that way of doing it, but I wondered if anyone could think of anything I am doing wrong? Thanks Stu
Guest TechZombie Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 Yes...not necessarily the battery and rotate though. @Techzombie it's "flash from zip" not "wipe from file" :P Thanks ... shame on me ... "Read first, then ask" .... everything's fine now ... o2 desire is rooted ... thanks to Paul ... damn good job! :D
Guest starchildx Posted May 7, 2010 Report Posted May 7, 2010 (edited) have someone flashed a o2 desire with a sandisk goldcard ? Edited May 7, 2010 by starchildx
